Hey guys, I updated to Yosemite on my mackintosh (specs in sig), and I am having an issue. If I try to boot and do not use the boot flag 'UseKernelCache=No', I get hung up at the load screen where the apple sign is sitting with the load bar. It loads maybe a quarter and then just stops... I've left it sitting for 30 minutes before and it does nothing.

When I use the 'UseKernelCache=No' flag, it loads almost halfway and the screen goes black for a second, and then the log in screen pops up.

I went into my extra folder and opened my Boot.plist and changed the UseKernelCache to No but I still have to type it in every time I boot up...

Any advice on this one? Attached is a picture showing the Boot.plist

Thanks in advance! :) Boot_plist.png

Please boot only using -v command and post a screenshot of that result.

Hi,

I'm having quite the same problem too, except it doesn't matter if i type "UseKernelCache=No" at boot time. I can only boot if this option is written in com.chameleon.boot.plist.

Everything seems fine in Yosemite so far, except this.

Here is a screen using "UseKernelCache=Yes" and -v at boot time :

Looks like a graficscard issue.
Please try booting with command -v GraphicsEnabler=No

Let us know what happends, if possible make screenshots.

Hi,

This is how i boot already, graphics enabler = no is in my boot file.
Doesn't change anything if i change it to "yes".

Worked like a charm before, with the same video card on 10.8 and 10.9

Maybe it is sensor related, like when i install the FakeSMC Plugins ?

I'm using Chameleon 4.0.1, and here is my boot plist file which i can boot with

EDIT : Tried to rebuilt caches with kext utility. Not a single change, still exactly the same lines when i boot with -v.

Not sure if you are referring to me with the "Which boot loader" question or to the thread-jacker lol... But incase it matters, I am using the newest Chameleon and I will post a screen shot of -v in a couple minutes. Sorry for such a delay!

EDIT: Also, when I use kextwizard, I can't boot my system for whatever reason and have to reinstall my OS!

Ok, i did all those things above.

- Installed chameleon and put the boot file and smbios file in the Extra folder : boot loop / black screen

- Then i tried using -x -v : same black screen. I tried to unplug my screen and plug it back on, or to another output. Didn't work.

- Then I used the unibeast usb key i installed Yosemite with to go to the partition selection, then i selected my Yosemite installed partition and tried to boot with -x -v UseKernelCach=No : Same black screen

- I then went onto my windows partition, replaced the original boot/smbios files in Extra folder. I then booted up and got the error "can't find mach_kernel"

- Finally i booted with the unibeast USB key, and selected the Yosemite partition and booted fine with -x -v UseKernelCache=No.

Now i reverted back to Chimera (the one embedded on the current multibeast version) and that's fine.

Except i still can't boot with "UseKernelCache=No" Obviously...

I don't know what should i do now (maybe open a new post of my own ? => sorry MJ Gilbert)

MJ Gilbert, do you have any update on your issue ?

On my side, i don't wish to explore deeper, as my system is running well. At least i don't want to mess with chameleon again
