I was able to get iMessage working after a clean install of Yosemite.

I installed Yosemite using a USB drive created with UniBeast 5.0. Included MultiBeast 7.0 on the USB Drive. I selected "Don't Sign In Now" on the Apple ID screen during initial setup.

Once Yosemite started, I ran MultiBeast with the following settings: (note the Drivers>Audio>Realtek ALCxxx>Optional EFI Installed Bootloader Support selection)

Restarted with USB drive to open Yosemite and found that About this MAC revealed that I had an iMAC 14.2

Next I followed the instructions beginning with STEP 4 (Post Installation) to install Clover bootloader:
How To Install OS X Yosemite Using Clover

After restart, I selected iMessage and received a popup containing a 12 digit number and prompting me to call Apple Support to activate iMessage. I did and told them that I had a code to reactivate my iMessage. They asked for my AppleID and the code and reactivated iMessage. iMessage signs in and is fully functional.

have you tried sending messages to anyone yet?

oh ok, so what you did was change from Chimera to Clover for bootloaders so it should be working.

Never installed Chimera because I knew it would not work. This was my first attempt at Clover and found the instructions very easy to follow.

Yes, iMessage is fully functional, I just did not add any addresses on the screenshot.

A Follow Up:

I again clean installed Yosemite on another SSD after having gotten iMessage working with an Apple reactivation as described in post 1.

In this installation I used Chimera 4.0 and all the applicable MultiBeast 7.0 settings (easier to get things working).

iMessage allowed me to sign in. :headbang:

It seems that serial numbers are not the problem. You seem to need the 12 digit code (I got mine by changing to Clover) and an Apple reactivation which allows future signing in with the same Apple ID.

Note: the serial number on this install is different from the first install leading me to believe that it has nothing to do with serial numbers.

Yup, once you have iMessage running on a Clover install it will stay logged in when booting with Chimera...until you log out of iMessage or try to make any changes like adding an email address or something. If you're feeling real adventurous try logging out and seeing if you can log in again. :)

If iyou can then I need to look at my setup.

Sorry to hear that you are having problems.

I have shut down my second install (Chimera) several times to work with win 7. Am posting this using Yosemite.

iMessage is working now and has been each time I restart it without requiring any sign in.

Happy to report success! Some trip ups due to config.plist not being great, but got past it, got my activation code, called apple (waited 25 min), gave Em my specs from the 'about' system details whatever they were at that time. Which were dif than my normal, but whoever said serial numbers/models not apparently being something Apple verifies, they took my fake credentials, validated, asked for my code and boom; logged in.

Had some cleanup after booting back with chimera; I think something (kext for iousb) got messed with, so now I'm patching back up and still workin!

Mucho mucho props; thank you!

Glad to hear it worked for you.

As I suspected, getting the code is the key.

By the way, they asked for my serial number but I ignored their request (was afraid it might not check out) and just told them I had a code to reactivate iMessage after upgrading to OS X 10.10.

Yes, I can shut down no problem with.Chimera and restart with Chimera and I stay logged in. I'm asking if, when you boot with Chimera, can you SIGN OUT of iMessage (not just close the app and/or restart the system) and log back in?

Short answer is YES I Can. I assume you are referring to the Quit Messages command on the drop down menu.

Messages logged in is confirmed by black dot under it's icon in the dock. I can select "Quit Messages" and confirm that it logged off by noting the black dot has disappeared. Clicking on the Messages icon brings up the signed in window and the black dot re appears.

By the way, I always sign out of Messages before I shut down the hack and have no problem opening a functioning Messages without the need to sign in after I again use Yosemite.
