Hello,

I've started my build and here are my parts

The Build

i7-4790K 4Ghz 8MB Cache LGA1150
GA-Z97x-UD3H REV 1.0 BIOS ver F4
16gig Ram
2 Kingston 120Gig SSD - One for Windows 7
EVGA 7508 power supply
Geforce GTX 760
Cheap Case
DVD Burner

I've installed Mavericks using -x -v GraphicsEnabler=No PCIRootUID=0

The install is perfect. I still have to use the codes it get in after the first install.

I use Multibeast and use these settings that I've found on here.

Drivers > Disk > TRIM Enabler > 10.9.x TRIM Patch
Drivers > Misc > FakeSMC v6.8.1307
Drivers > Misc > FakeSMC v6.8.1307 Plugins
Drivers > Misc > FakeSMC v6.8.1307 HWMonitor Application
Drivers > Misc > USB 3.0 - Universal
Drivers > Network > Intel > AppleIntelE1000e v3.0.4.1a
Drivers > System > AppleRTC Patch for CMOS Reset
Bootloaders > Chimera v3.0.1
Customize > Boot Options > Basic Boot Options
Customize > Boot Options > Generate CPU States
Customize > Boot Options > Hibernate Mode - Desktop
Customize > Boot Options > Use KernelCache
Customize > Boot Options > 1080p Display Mode
Customize > System Definitions > Mac Pro > Mac Pro 6,1

Now I have disabled the on board graphics card. I've been using the 760 the whole time during install.

When I look in the Mac OSX info... it says 4600 graphics (null) Even when I'm using the 760

I have installed OSX like 20 times or more... I'm really getting tired.

Is there an easy fix for this or am I pooched?

As of right now... I'm only getting the Apple logo at start up and it freezes. Even with the codes... nada

On to install #21

Also, I dont care about the built in sound card. I have an external Audio interface. This hack is pretty much for Logic and surfing.

You need BIOS version F6 to use a 4790K with a Z97x-UD3H - Gigabyte.

It's not going to cure your immediate problem (probably) but you'll have to address it sometime.

Good Luck

I just installed F6. Still the same thing. It goes to the apple screen and then resets

Now is a good time to put your specs in your profile/sig like it says in the Rules,
It will help others to help you.

Set your Bios to optimised defaults - Disable VT-d, Integrated Graphics and Turboboost.

Boot with -v GraphicsEnabler=No

Post a picture of the screen when (if) it stops

Good Luck

I just upgraded so I'm pretty focused on getting it going. I will update my Sig.

Boot flags are case sensitive - Get them wrong and they have no effect.

Boot with -v GraphicsEnabler=No

Good Luck

have you over clocked your CPU? also make sure you disable vt-d and enable AHCI boot with GraphicsEnabler=No -v -f -x and see if it boots then my friend has this board and all it kept doing is kernel panic it would only boot into safe mode

I just got everything on Friday. I have not overclocked it. I typed what you wrote and it still shut the computer off. If I dont use multibeast... I can get into the computer with -x -v GraphicsEnabler=No
