When I choose my Macintosh HD with the latest Mavericks 10.9.4 at the Bootloader, it took me to the typical Apple Grey screen like normal, but instantly instead of the spinner, I got the progress bar, and then the spinner goes for a few seconds till it stops and the system shuts down completely.

So I tried loading from a brand new Unibeast USB I made this morning with the latest Mavericks in order to repair permissions on the Macintosh HD, and while I get past the Apple Grey screen, nothing happens after that. The computer remains on, but nothing shows up on the monitor, just a "No DVI signal" warning.

I've tried verbose and safe modes, GraphicsEnabler=Yes, and GraphicsEnabler=No and still no closer to figuring it out. I am at a complete loss as what to do, especially since the Unibeast won't load either.

Here are my specs:

GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3-B3
Intel Core i7 2600
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285
16 GB RAM

Thank you!

Did you disable VT-d in your BIOS ?

Where would I find VT-d? I'm going through the BIOS now and having difficulty locating it. Thanks!

Look in your manual - If you don't have a manual you can download one from Gigabyte.

If you want to run a hackintosh then you need to do a little research for yourself instead of just asking every question here - You'll learn so much more that way too.

Good Luck

Ok, I had a look and it's not so easy to find - Look in :

Miscellaneous Settings / Virtualization Technology / Select Disabled.

Good Luck

Wouldn't the boot flag "dart=0" accomplish the same thing without having to disable VT-d? Either way, disabling it in BIOS will certainly eliminate that as the culprit!

Thank you P1LGRIM for your input. I found Virtualization Technology in the BIOS and disabled it.

However, my problem still persists.

I still cannot even boot the Unibeast USB. When I run -v it takes me until the second attachment, and then a blank screen after that. Any suggestions?

I've tried -x, -v, GraphicsEnabler=Yes, PCIRootUID=0, and I'm not sure what else I can try to get the Unibeast USB to get past the Grey Apple screen.

Thank you!

That's a graphics problem.

Are you using a DVI port on your GTX 285 ?

Is it plausible that this is a graphics card issue? The computer is still running when I boot from the Unibeast USB, though my display says there's no DVI input.
