Hi guys

After installing mavericks on my newly build (first) mackintosh i ran into this kernel panic.

2014-07-11 21.25.59.jpg

I have tried to disable the Intel CPU boost function i the BIOS and tried many different boot-flags. Latest the ones you see in the picture. I have also double checked the setting and disabled the vt-d and set the hard drive to ACHI, and so on.

I have the OSX Mavericks installed on a Samsung 840 evo SSD which has to partitions. One with Mavericks and one with windows 8.1. Don't know if that information helps?

I can't even boot from the USB drive i made with the mavericks installer.

Can't see where i should begin "decrypting" the code - still quite new to this thing.

Hope you have some helping ideas.

Have you tried booting with no flags? I'm running the same motherboard with a 4790K processor and a GTX760. I didn't have any problems installing from a Unibeast drive. I even left turbo boost on. The only thing I used was -v so I could see what was happening.

I've now tried on a new hdd and it works :)

But sadly when I have to turn on my mackintosh I have to do it in safe mode. So i use the flags: -v -x

If i don't use -x the machine will just stop on the
DRMStatus: Itunes/Apple ... and in the end of the line ErrorCode: 8877652

I am not an expert but once you understand the process you can get things going. Most problems seem due to a misunderstood flag, a missed setting in Multibeast or misidentification of hardware or UEFI/BIOS. Although the instructions on this website are comprehensive it is easy to make an error, even for those experienced in setting up Windows based OSes.

It is not clear if you have installed the boot loader with Multibeast and can boot off the hard drive to either OS. The UEFI/BIOS has to point to the drive with OSX as the first boot device (unless you want to leave that as an optical drive), a simple thing to forget. If you can only boot with the Unibeast USB key you have not set up Multibeast correctly.

If you are successfully booting off the hard drive but require flags to boot to OSX again usually something is not correct in your Multibeast settings. Before making any major changes in Multibeast make sure you have a Time Machine backup as it is easier to restore than reinstall if something disastrous happens. You can drill down in Multibeast for the needed flags. In general I would make a Time Machine backup after every successful staged change in Multibeast settings. Multibeast is an amazingly powerful program but its current interface may not be all that intuitive for many users so it is not difficult to miss or misunderstand a setting.

IMHO it is best practice to get stable booting off the hard drive before concentrating on networking and then sound in that order because if you can boot stably off the hard drive the most important things are probably installed correctly for the basics of the operating system and video card. You need to know the chipsets on your motherboard for sound and networking but if you choose correctly in Multibeast it should work: remember you have to reboot after making major changes in Multibeast, like network or sound settings. Once networking and sound are stable, like every time you boot it all works, you can obsess about other issues, e.g. USB 3 as you like. If you are using SSDs make sure TRIM is working. You may want to download an independent TRIM patch rather than use what is in Unibeast.

In my experience Gigabyte motherboards work quite well but you may have to experiment to find the right combination for your particular hardware.

I can start the system from the drive, without the usb. But I have to use -x on startup.

Is there any way to tell why it works with the -x flag and not without.
Below are my MultiBeast settings:

can you post your MultiBeast settings, and BIOS (if you did something other than setting the ACHI-mode and the other basics). And if you have manually changed the .plist file.

Because if we are running on somewhat the same setup, your settings might work for me too.
:D
