I was working on my Hackintosh this morning, and everything froze up (including the clock). I was forced to reboot. When it came back up, I was told that my Library needed to be rebuilt and to enter my password. Well, I did, but my desktop has not been rebuilt.

I have time machine running, but I can't seem to get it to go back and let me restore my user library from an earlier backup.

Any ideas?

Okay, I've tried some things, and nothing's working...

I tried creating a new admin account, and going into Time Machine. Time Machine doesn't seem to want to find my Library. I did do the steps in terminal to unhide Library. Nada.

I've tried using the migration assistant to import my user data from Time Machine. It says my user has been moved and the data will not be copied.

I've tried deleting the user account, and then recreating with the same info. I cannot log into that account now. Deleted, tried the migration asssistant, and again, I'm missing all my settings. No mail, missing items in the dock, cannot launch certain apps (iPhoto, VMWare Fusion), Chrome doesn't retain setttings. It's a hot mess.

Part of the problem may be my home directory is on a different drive. However, Time Machine should be backing that drive up as well. Should.

I've tried Disk Utility to check the disk for errors. Thought I might be able to repair permissions, but it's greyed out.

Running out of ideas here.

Ive had this issue on real Macs, LOL.
