Hi all.
I just change my old sandy 2600 to a brand new 4770k an a new motherboard Gigabyte GA-Z87X-OC Force. After successfully (clean) install 10.9, realized i'm stuck at 800 mhz.
Already updated the bios to f7, and for two days in a row, play around with impossible combinations BIOS settings/ multi beast settings.
Also: i simply cant get my graphics card to work. I dont know what im doing wrong, but is impose for the system to "see" the cards. Tried with Titan, GTX 770, radeon 5570 and an old gtx 430, GraphicsEnabler=Yes and =No, turn off IGPX in BIOS etc etc.
I'm about to cry.
Please help, i don't know what to do.

My MB settings and my boot.plist

Hi alessandrolameiras,

just wanted to let you know the following: I also was struggling with the same build as you (same mobo and cpu) and couldn't figure out why the freq wouldn't go above 800MHz. After much playing around, updating BIOS etc etc I realised that there was a switch in the motherboard called TGR that was in position 2, this makes the mobo follow the lowest CPU ratio defined by the CPU, thus the 800MHz. Change it to position 1 which allows the Target frequency to be set by the BIOS Setup (you can check this info in the motherboard User's Manual, page 25.)

I hope this helps and solves your problem. I'm now on a 3.6GHz machine. It flies beautifully :)

cheers,

andré

Thank you, 3x! I just finished a build of a GA-Z87X-UD7-TH and this same switch was on this motherboard. I was stuck at 800MHz also. I have a i7-4770, and I thought this switch only applied to the i7-4770K and overclocking. In my manual the reference is on page 24 where it discusses OC buttons.

The manual implies that the switch can be thrown at any time on a running system, but I don't have the nerve to do that. Anyone know about that?
