Hi guys, I hope someone can help.
I managed to upgrade to Mavericks using Unibeast and Multibeast, and even got iMessage and iCloud working (neither of which worked under Mountain Lion). I'm now experiencing a strange problem: at random times, all applications stop responding however the mouse pointer still responds to movement. Sometimes it happens when I'm opening a link, other times it's when I try to open a file. Most time's it just shows the standard mouse pointer but a couple of times it's been the spinning beach ball.
If I try and click on applications or attempt to take control of my system in any other way (e.g. trying to bring up the force quit dialog) nothing happens. Occasionally while it is doing this the hard drive starts chugging away, however other times it doesn't.
I've had activity monitor running and nothing appears to be hogging resources when these freezes happen, and leaving it to sit makes no difference - the only solution is to cycle power.
I've not seen anyone else remarking on the same issue, and I fear I may have to do a clean install in order to resolve, but I wanted to see if anyone has any ideas.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give
