My issue is that most of the time I shut down, sleep or restart this computer it gets kernel panics. The majority of the time booting straight to the BIOS/UEFI and then saving and exiting will get me to the login screen upon restart, but sometimes it will require several reboots before the kernel panics stop.

Upon waking up from sleep the Display Audio via USB becomes unavailable and thus there is no sound. A restart into the BIOS/UEFI usually gets me back to the login screen with audio available.

Just trying to figure out what could be the issue. I can try and take pictures of the kernel panic screens, but have no way of knowing when the next one will come up.

Every so often I have no issues for a couple of days, but then they start up again.

Any suggestions are appreciated greatly.

Some Kernel Panic Photos to go with the issues. Same situation. Wake from Sleep no audio unplugged/replugged the Cinema Display and nothing happened.

Restarted twice before I was able to log back in.

I set the GraphicsEnabler to No before and there were more panics. Switching it to Yes seemed to cut down the panics. I have my IGFX booting first in order to allow the Cinema Display to access the BIOS and in general show the display. When I switched that to the other option (forget what it's called atm) the display did not work.

I've been reading the most current Panics and one of them kept putting out the HDA Enabler or whatever it's called so this seems to be an audio problem from what I can tell.

But another common thing I read was an error in reading the CPU. Something with CPUID in it and then a warning about power management.

Any idea about what issues I may have here?

Thanks,

Rich.

I suggest you start from scratch and follow my guide on my build (at bottom of my post). Start from the very beginning and reinstall everything as per my instructions.

My build is perfect, everything is working in the Mac OS.

We don't have the exact same hardware wouldn't this make a difference? Just curious.

I currently have my Cinema Display set to the internal GFX HD4000 I think it is so wouldn't this also cause other issues?

My build was exactly like yours, but obviously with a few different hardware choices.

I'll try the GE = No for now and see what happens.

Thanks.

Sorry for the double post, but still need a helping hand. Graphics Enabler = No seems to have cut out the audio issues, but I'm still getting a couple kernel panics upon restart.

I think I'm going to try and get a dp to mdp adapter and see if I can get around the issue by disabling the HD4000 IGFX if anyone has any other suggestions they'd be appreciated.

UPDATE:

Tried the MDP to DP Adapter and that didn't work at all. I suppose I could research a bit more about what BIOS Settings are needed or if I need dto add more into my chamelion.boot.plist, but I think I"ll work with the iGFX set up. Anyone know of an adapter brand that is confirmed to work? I've tried one and it was an utter failure.

Help is much appreciated.

Also if anyone might know why upon restart I'd be getting so many kernel panics before finally being able to login? I've fresh installed a few times and finally gotten my raid 0 setup all ready to go, but it'd be a shame to have to fresh install again. I can't seem to figure out what's causing the kernel panics.
