Hey folks,
Having a mysterious problem of a double-logon screen. OSX (10.8.4) boots normal, I get to the logon screen and enter my password. The progress wheel next to the password spins, the screen flashes white as if it's going to the desktop, then instead RETURNS to the logon screen. When I logon the second time it then goes to the desktop as normal. This was not happening until recently, after an external USB drive got stuck in the middle of a file transfer, freezing the system which required a hard reboot. A minor annoyance to be sure, but does anybody have a clue on this one? Please note the following:
*All other hardware/software seem to be running normally.
*OSX keeps propagating "fseventsd-uuid" files from a Windows "System Reserved" drive in the Trash. The files aren't deleting automatically due to the fact that "System Reserved" was renamed to ".System Reserved" to hide it. When it is unhidden I can empty the Trash with CleanMyMac2.
*Time Machine is on, FileVault is off.
*Automatic login is disabled.
