Hi, I do a lot of editing with my 2 roommates, I'm about to build my first hackintosh and I just want to know if it's possible to build a San server with an Hackintosh ?

SAN or NAS?

Both are possible and I have a hack as a Primary MDC for Xsan that sees 40+ fiber users. Works really well.

What type of card do you use ? Fibre channel ?
 
I'd also love to know if someone's managed to get a Fibre Channel card and XSAN running on a Customac. I've tried a variety of different Fibre Channel cards to no avail. XSAN preferences pane shows up, but quits on launch.

It's doable. I am running one. Has its limitations though.
