Moarfishs' build (quite a lot of info in his topic from 3rd July)
cdlcnox' build (31st July)
SDTrex first build (19th August)
mucksavage's build (6th October)
Miramar's Baby75 (26th Oct.)
djfreak121's build (2nd Nov.)
Thierry's Mac Midi (9th Nov.)
DrTom's PowerHac G5 (22nd Feb. 2013)
Brandon927's build (22nd March)
ethankline's First Build (25th May)
Jorma's first build (22nd June)

If you built a rig with this board, please take few minutes and open your topic in the User Builds, and give us the link here.
It will surely help for future users, if this board (recommended in the CustoMac list) is more "visible".
Thanks!

Edit 12 Oct. 2012:

In fact, there are more B75M out there. It's just that user are posting less topics about their build, compared to others.
Maybe because there is nothing special, or maybe because all is working without problem?
Anyway, see below (and in this topic) some who build a GA-B75M-... hack

Edit 25 April 2013 to add latest builds of DrTom and Brandon.

Original message:
It's been many months that I am looking around the forum, and that I have changed my plans (from H61 / H67 , mini ITX to the new B75M for mATX, etc.)
Now that I am settled down for the GA-B75M with a core i3-3225, I am looking again in the forum to find some builds and some advices.
I'm not lucky... There are not so many builds with this board. Even it is in the recommended CustoMac list.

There is the build from Moarfish, but he was using the Sandy processor.

Do you know why so few people are building on the B75M ?
People are not using the mATX ?

Or it's because they take other boards? which ones and why ?

Should I continue my quest for my ultimate small and silent hackintosh... with a B75M?
Or I am just wrong and have to start again... :?:

think youve answered the main question of this thread with the link youve posted.
there are better options, which work very well.

if you look around the forum, youll see many threads using those two boards, as well as the maximus v gene.
if you are looking for a good low cost z77 matx, you cant get better than the two boards you mentioned

These OEM-oriented boards are not so popular on the DIY market. No reviews, hard to sell second-hand, and you can't overclock them.

Thank you for the µATX thread, by the way. Since Gigabyte's not offering a single hackintosh-friendly Z77 board, I could buy something else.

That's strange for me, because I was taking the Customac list as the "Hackintosh Bible"...
And thought the Gigabyte was the best, easiest one.

I have to search and read more about these 2 mATX board.

Which ones? You are talking about the GA-B75M?

if you consider a bible to be a guide for life, and deviating from that guide means eternal damnation, then no, the customac list is not a bible.
what it is, is a list of known compatible hardware which you can easily purchase. that doesnt mean that parts which are not on that list do not work ;)

No offence... when I was using the word "Bible"... It was just a reference list for me. But it was funny not much of these mATX were used.

I will look more on the Asus P8Z77 in the forum. Everybody seems to know them. I did not.

I have just built that system for my in-laws...

GA-B75M-D3H - i3-3225 - 2x4GB Kingston Hyper-X 1600MHz Ram - ADATA 60GB SATA3 - WD 250GB 7200RPM - Sony DVD-RW. It is running with Intel HD4000 Graphics, Sleep/Wake and Ethernet is working flawlessly. Updated to 10.8.2 and loaded the rollback AppleACAPIPlatform.kext with KextBeast and Realtek HDA with Multibeast before Restart. Upon Restart the only thing I was missing was TRIM support so I Re-enabled TRIM support for non Apple SSD's in IOAHCIFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/IOAHCIBlockStorage.kext as follows:

Make backup:
Code:
sudo cp /System/Library/Extensions/IOAHCIFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/IOAHCIBlockStorage.kext/Contents/MacOS/IOAHCIBlockStorage /System/Library/Extensions/IOAHCIFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/IOAHCIBlockStorage.kext/Contents/MacOS/IOAHCIBlockStorage.original
Enable TRIM:
Code:
sudo perl -pi -e 's|(\x52\x6F\x74\x61\x74\x69\x6F\x6E\x61\x6C\x00{1 ,20})[^\x00]{9}(\x00{1,20}\x4D)|$1\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00 \x00\x00$2|sg' /System/Library/Extensions/IOAHCIFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/IOAHCIBlockStorage.kext/Contents/MacOS/IOAHCIBlockStorage

64bit Geekbench score for this build is 8328.

Thanks for your input, on the other topic.
I will continue here, about my search Asus P8Z77 or Giga B75 ??

(Fab13 de Marseille ? ;) )

In fact, the B75 is the recommended mATX board from TonyMac team. But it is not very famous around the forum.
I will check the difference between the Asus Z77 and the Giga B75 to see, from my usage point of view.

(Maybe everybody need bigger builds than me...? and they go for the Z77, which I won't use all capacities..)
(or maybe people building with B75 are just "less geek", so they don't really need to post their build in the forum ? )

Why so few builds with GA-B75M ?

I am eager to get my hands on the GA-Z77N-WIFI, perhaps that is better suited to your needs. They were officially released September 14th according to Gigabyte

i know what you meant. my reply was based on that.
my point is that its not a hard list, it can be altered as you see fit, using other peoples builds as reference points

I searched on google and the main difference between Z77 and B75 chipsets, it's mainly to be able to OC (on the Z77), which I won't do. (won't need)

This GA-Z77N-Wifi is not yet on amazon.at

Aaaaah... By looking for this one, I also found a GA-Z77M-D3H, for 92€. (Edit: Forget this one ! Audio and Ethernet are not supported, according to some topics)
I really have to look again and compare all these MB.
