Is it possible to get any Radeon cards working in a Hack?
I just thought that apple seem to be swapping the nvidia cards for amd alternatives (mac pro, imac 5k).

Yes. Just do a search for the particular card you're interested in. R9 280x and R9 290x work. So does 7970 of which the 280x is just a rebadging, both were Tahiti cards.

My first build that I just sold last month was with a Gigabyte ATI Radeon 5770 1GB on Yosemite 10.10.2, worked OOB. An used one you can buy for 30-40 euros.

Is your R9 290x working without a hitch? OOB?

From my experience (HD5770 & HD6870), if you managed to find a compatible AMD/ATi Radeon graphics card, it tends to work without a hitch.

I am also using a [h=1]XFX R9-280X-TDFD Radeon R9 280X 3GB 384-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Double Dissipation Edition Video Card[/h]and would like to know if that will work with Yosemite.
