OSX on board graphics & Windows using graphics card

Hi, I am new to the hackintosh world and am trying to learn all that I can before I build my own. I would be wanting to dual boot Windows and OSX. If I got a graphics card that wasn't on the supported list and I couldn't get it working on the OSX side would I still be able to use it on my Windows side? And if that works would I be able to use the on board graphics card from the motherboard for OSX? I don't know a lot about this stuff so i don't know if this is a dumb question or not?
