Here is the hardware:
Gigabyte Z97X-UD5H
Intel 4790K
Noctua NH-U9B SE2 Cpu Fan
Seasonic 520w Platinum Fanless
Crucial Ballistix 8GB chips (2ea)
Antc P280 Case
Whenever I plug in the VGA cable for my monitor to the mobo, the board will not boot. All I get is a 1/2 second of CPU fan spin, then immediately shuts off. However, if I unplug the VGA cable, it will boot fine. Once the board has started up, I can then re-connect the VGA cable and everything is fine. I have tested with 2 Samsung monitors, and both give the same problem with only the basics connected (Ram and cpu w/fan, nothing else, not even the header cables or case fans)
I have tried testing this both inside the case and taking all components out and laying them on the bench, same situation. Is this a bad board or bad power supply? How do I troubleshoot this?
Thanks all!
