Gigabyte X99 UD4 seems pretty interesting. I couldn't find anything about gigabyte thunderbolt add in cards. Have you seem anything about it? Is it possible to install OSX, even without full support, right now?

I am also very interested
Gigabyte X99 UD4 + i7 5960x + ddr4 :)

Anybody has tested yet?
I can't wait to have 8 core 4.5Ghz on Mavericks!

Please, any progress, let us know

As mentioned in the first post we haven't tested any yet. Thunderbolt looks to be possible on most
X99 GA boards via an add in card. See their site for specifics on each motherboard.

So basically your saying I am safe to buy as long as i buy the gigabyte..... Should I press buy. and does overclocking work on hackintoshes? i want a 5820k standing at 4.5ghz. Also are asus motherboards going to be a good bet or not? I heard there more hooollalalala with those platforms. So please let me know.

When can we get confirmation of it working. PLEASE MY life depends on it. Really I need a hackintosh for schoolwork. Your my only hope.

come on guys, i was building an x79 i7 4930k ddr3 mackintosh, when i see this new processor coming out!
now i'm waiting a little bit to see if it's possible to build an mackintosh with the x99 and how it works instead of x79 MOBO
what you think is better 5960x 5930k 5820k
i was thinking about a x99 asus i7 5930k ddr4 2666mhz and a gtx 770 4gb....
let's hope to build something with this new technology

No, we're not recommending anything yet until testing is done. There may be other brands that work as well or maybe even better. It's a large investment to build one of these so just be patient and get it right the first time.

Absolutely, look at some of the X79 golden builds and you can find a lot of info on over clocking
a socket 2011 build. They were designed for over clocking, a high quality liquid or air cooler
is essential if you want to do this.

IF you guy would get my back i'm willing to built one. worst case scenario : it won't work and I will resale it to a gamer or just run it as a PC....( did I really say that?)

my actual Z77 udh7 th 32 gb/ dual 840 / 3770K/ dual 660 is fast, but we got more and more 4K footage coming in and know have frequently 40 000 raw eos 5DmkIII picture to process for time-lapse ... so I need to step up. my actual rig might get a server rack mount case and become a "field station" or a backup server....

there is a few things that are mandatory for me therefore I think I will stick to Gigabyte mobo.

first = i want a dual M2 slot to have a very fast and cheap boot drive that doesn't populate my PCI slot/
second = now that all my software can use multiple GPU, i might try to go a little bigger than my actual GPU setup.
third = ram, more ram, and yes more and more ram... because = ramdisk for preview... try that never go back = what is the point of having titan Z if they are waiting for drive to move data.
four = more pci lane to take avantage of the red rocket card, areca raid.
and of course thunderbolt, because when you need to download 8 x 512 ssd from the video recorder, it is better not having to wait 5 hour per ssd... ( leave me alone with USB3 for god sake)

so here is the plan =

one of the X99 gigabyte mobo x99whatever ud7 as it looks to alway be the top end.
I7 8 core 20 mb cache
64gb of ram
2x M2 Samsung ssd x941
one titan Z or maybe 2 x GTX 780 BLACK dny
two ARECA 1882xi 8 one for the data on 8X4TB, one for render file on 8X64Gb ssd

so basically I know that all this a
Hardware work flawlessly with a Z77 mobo, but the problem is that you can't just have them all at the same time at full speed.... X79 would give me true lane but ouch.... no thunderbolt....

basically my strategy is to buy the mobo, ram, ssd, and thunderbolt ad-on card, and try to make it work.

once it work the rest might not be two hard to work around...

Will call Gigabyte this morning to see what they have to say about Thunderbolt ad on card.

it is a lot of money but I've looked at any decent new Mac Pro trash can wit 8 core /64/512 + 3 PCIE extension boxes and you are at 10K.... the X99 can be done for 6K.. my machine usually have a 2 year lifespan, so i highly doubt that the 6 month i could win by buying a real mac pro will pay the 4000€ difference.

let's the fun begin, after all the mac pro looks a lot like a custom X99 machine.... built by apple

Alright so basically, when are we going to get the testing results out for us. Please let us get a estimate out there first and foremost. SECONDLY,

SECONDLY, is MAXWELL gpu's rumored to be arriving, i.e. gtx 970/gtx 980 going to work for hackintoshability. The gtx 750 and gtx 750 ti are also maxwell, do they work, if so, shouldn't gtx 980 work?
