I am also working on my new Asus Q550LF (BB edition). I have successfully installed OSX on a new partition. I currently have it booting with Clover (r2652)/Multibeast. I have Native Boot Manager working with Clover/Multibeast as well. This was an incredibly complex experience. I will do my best to document it if anyone else is going to try to attempt this.
Please keep in mind that the only things I currently have working OOB are Native UEFI booting, built-in keyboard support and USB. USB will crash if you hot-plug anything while it's operating in OSX.
What works and what doesn't, but I'm working on it and will keep the thread updated:
(PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_08B1&SUBSYS_41708086) Wi-Fi Intel AC 7260 = Not Yet
(PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&SUBSYS_200F1043) Realtek GBE NIC = Nope
(PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0A16&SUBSYS_12DD1043) Intel HD 4600 = Kind of, It shows, but I don't have QE enabled. Only shows 64MB regardless of whats chosen in UEFI (BIOS).
(PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0FE3&SUBSYS_12DD1043) GeForce 745M = Not even close
(USB\VID_04F2&PID_B3FD&REV_6954&MI_00) USB2.0 HD UVC WebCam = It Works in Facetime and Camera utility
(ACPI\VEN_ATK&DEV_3001) PS2 Keyboard = Works with Multibeast -> Voodoo PS2
(HID\VID_045E&PID_077B&REV_0044&Col02) Trackpad = Still can't get this to work, I thought it was PS2 and I was wrong.
(PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9C31&SUBSYS_12DD1043) USB 3.0 = Also, Kind-of works. Will work if something is plugged in at boot.
My UEFI settings that make this work are:
Virtualization = OFF
Secure Boot = OFF
Booting CSM = OFF
Fast Boot = OFF
These settings will still allow you to boot into stock OS natively. Without these settings you cannot boot into the installer or ever hope to get your computer booted correctly.
Here's the catch... There is probably a better way to do this than what I had to do, In order to get this working right I ended up wiping my drive and starting from scratch. I made a 16GB USB stick loaded with OSX, a copy of Another OS recovery flashed onto another 8GB USB stick and 1 CD burned with GParted (bootable), but it turns out OSX Disk Utility works fine. Just make sure you format the other partitions to (MS-DOS - FAT).
First I formatted the Drive with GPT. I then gave myself 1GB first partition formatted FAT32, 200MB FAT32 used for Microshaft system stuff, 250GB for OSX and remainder for Other OS. This will give you the correct number of partitions bare minimum to install OSX and other OS back to the machine.
Next I booted my Clover OSX USB. Clover works, and Unibeast worked as well. I'm still not sure what I will end up with in the end, but it looks like a mix of both.
Install like normal.
It should boot normally. I'll get to how to install what you need in the next post. If your interested in attempting this, I will try to get into extra detail, just let me know I'm not
writing this for no reason.
I look forward to helping out,
