Hi,

GA-Z87X-UD5H Bios ver. F7 have 6 USB 3 ports on back panel and FOUR on bottom and TWO on top, right next to ps/2.

Bottom four usb 3 are not working. I tried Tried different USB 2 and 3 drives in both Windows 7 and 10.8.4. Still no luck. But, two on top and usb 3 headers are working fine. My case is Corsair 400R.

I had the exact same problem before on same board, so I got a replacement few days ago. Once I got it, it was working, but not now.

What I can try to fix it?

I have the same motherboard and have the same problem with none of my back USB 3 ports working. When I first got the motherboard they were working. I do get glowing lights on my USB devices so the are getting power but none of them are being recognized by Win8 or the BIOS. The devices do work on the front of my case. I would be interested if anyone has any ideas.

Wait, what do you mean exactly? No USB3 speed or are the ports not working at all?

I got an F6 BIOS, all the ports are working without installing anything USB drivery stuffs. Unfortunately I do not have an USB3 drive, so I cannot test if the transfer speed is actually on USB3 level.

It doesn't recognize anything. Now, ever it's getting worse. Two usb 3 on top are not working.

So, I was trying to exchange a Z87x-ud3h, but I found a review it looks like there is a similar USB 3 problem on that, too.

I might downgrade to Ivy Bridge instead of Haswell.

Miak828vna, there are two rest buttons near big red power button on the mother board. Try resetting with two buttons. Sometime top two usb 3 are working after resetting.

Thanks for the help. I reset the CMOS and now my two front USB 3 ports are working but my back are still inop. Still it's a step in the right direction.

I just got this board a week ago and I'm too a victim of the usb 3.0 problem. Only the usb 2.0 and the front panel usb 3.0 ports work for me. I hear that there have been problems with those Renesas usb 3.0 hub chips on various boards. Maybe a future revision will fix such a problem. Gigabyte must have not thoroughly tested the usb 3.0 ports if they fail almost immediately, or they knew about the problem but decided to make a quick buck by selling a flawed product. Sigh...The world we live in...

I don't know if any of you fixed this. I bought my board in the beginning of November and all of the ports worked fine. Today all 6 back panel ports stopped working. The front panel ports that are plugged into the USB 3.0 header are working fine. The 6 broken ports don't work in Windows, OS X, or the BIOS so it's not a driver issue.

Fortunately I am still in Amazon's return/replace window so I just exchanged it with them because it appears to be a hardware problem. I certainly don't want to spend a week on the phone with Gigabyte's idiot workforce.
