I have a touchscreen on my ultrabook and the computer's metal build causes it to act up when closed. I have tried both the eGalax drivers and the default OS X drivers (this touchscreen is supported out of the box) and the issue still persists preventing the laptop from sleeping.

How do I disable the touchscreen completely? it's a USB device and I have no idea how to disable it.

Various solutions to "instant wake" are covered in the ACPI patching guide.

Sleep works fine, I just need to disable the touchscreen because the laptop's metal frame causes ghost touches when I close the lid.

You can disable the touchscreen by omitting the USB port it is attached to via a USB port injector.

Some info here, and although disabling a port is not discussed (most people are trying to make their ports work), simply creating an injector without the specific port that the touch screen is connected to should do the trick.

You could also disable USB wake entirely as previously suggested.

Some info where? Steps to identify USB port in question? Steps to omit that port? Please help.
