i'm finishing installing 10.11.1 I have a new 970 card, do I need to do anything (web drivers, etc) before I install it? z77-ds3h, I7...

You will need Web drivers. Either install them first (most convenient) or boot with nv_disable=1 until they're installed. Then boot with nvda_drv=1 after they're installed.

TY for the help. I'm having some horrific problems with 10.11, can I use the web drivers in 10.10 and still upgrade the graphics card while I'm working things out on my other drive?

Sure, though there may be a different version for 10.10.x -- I think the sticky post at the top of the Graphics forum has links to the older releases.
