Must re-run ssdtPRGen.sh to generate SSDT.aml and to put it into CLOVER directory after system update? When do I have to re-run ssdtPRGen.sh and patch it into CLOVER directory?

No. Only if you installed a new CPU. The output of ssdtPRgen.sh is specific to the CPU installed.

Do I need to run the ssdtPRGen.sh with any of the parameters or will it know the CPU type etc?

It has most common Intel CPUs in its configuration files. Newer CPUs are added in time.

I wondered about it. I can't remember if I have the ssdt I made for an I3 or if I made a new one for the I7.

Thanks a lot for the help and all the work you put in on this. As a 67 year old I need all the help I can get. Started off with computers a while ago with a 4004.

Have a great week.

That pre-dates me... I got started with machine language for the 6502 (Apple IIe).

A silly question: But do I even need to have a SSDT.aml file in every case?

I never used one with clover and my systems just seems to work fine (i7 4970k, Asus Z-97, Clover, El Capitan).

Or am I wrong and speedstep might not work correctly etc.?

If I check with HWMonitor or Intel Power Gadget, the CPU ratio goes down when the system idles...

I thought we only need the SSDT.aml file when the CPU ist not natively supported by OS X?

For completely correct native PM, you need a generated SSDT.

Thank you very much for your reply. I did this yesterday already using the Mavericks PM Guide here on the site.

I have the feeling, since using the SSDT, that the system now more likely uses "more power" (more mhz / ratio) than before, without using the SSDT.

But, on the other side, power usage (watt) and the temperature of the CPU stays at the same level as before).
