Comments about stability
Over the past few years, I've had mixed experiences with the OS X operating system, I started with 10.8.
So far, 10.11 (El Capitan) is the most stable. I am not experiencing any random system freezes like I had experienced with earlier versions of OS X.
I built this system with iTunes Home Sharing in mind. I use iTunes to serve as my 'media server'. I have converted my DVD and Blu-Ray collection for this purpose.
I, like many have experienced, iTunes freezes when trying to play DRM protected content. I'm able to listen to Music, but can't watch, download or serve up TV Shows or Movies that have been purchased through iTunes. Until I discovered a work around.
I still can't watch protected DRM content on the Hack, but I can serve up DRM content via Home Sharing to a couple of Apple TVs. I have to boot into Windows, download the TV Show or Movie, boot back into OS X, 'first aid' the Raid array (via disk utility) where the iTunes content is stored, unplug the ethernet cable, run iTunes, wait for iTunes to update the library and replug the ethernet cable back in.
When I follow the above, I don't experience any system freezes when content is accessed via Home Sharing.
