Hi, i downloaded the new DSDT from Kexts.com for my MOBO X58a ud3r v2 [ FD ] and the ''NullCPUPowerManagement'' is way better than the one i downloaded from ''TonyMac'' [ also the FD bios version ] But when i put the Hack to sleep, when i wake up the Machine it restarts instead of waking up...... and the DSDT from TonyMac , the sleep and wake up works really good , but my Audio software work better without TonyMac DSDT, but if i add the kext ''NullCPUPowerManagement'' to the extra folder with the DSDT made from TonyMac , now my Audio Software work really good [ like with the DSDT from Kexts.com] but the DSDT from kexts.com , the wake up mode is not working, keeps restarting.... is there a way to have only the sleep and wake up data from TonyMac DSDT and copy it to the DSDT from Kexts.com ?? How? any thoughts ?????? thnx

The FD DSDT works with no issues with my UD3R Rev 2.0.

You can try enabling the "Startup automatically after power failure" in the Energy Saver option of the System Preferences to see if that helps with the restarting DSDT.

That option isn't on X58 motherboards when using a proper DSDT.

Didn't know that but if he does not use yours then it may be there..

The FD DSDT works with no issues with my UD3R Rev 2.0.[/quote]

Dont get me wrong , the Hack works excellent , ''Only'' When i use my audio programs at maximum with the DSDT , i got Cpu Spikes and the performance is not good, so i dont use DSDT , but today i saw a New DSDT in Kexts.com and i wanted to see what happens... so i did a new installation via Multibeast and put this DSDT in the desktop , restart , and test my audio Progs with a test song that i did to stress the CPU [ Lots of Plug-ins ] and with this DSDT the song played OK....no Cpu spikes , no random stops , and warnings that the Cpu cant take no more , but when i tried to wake up the Hack from sleep mode , it does not work, instead i got a restart , so i want to have the best of both DSDT's , the DSDT that works fine with the sleep mode , and the one that works with my audio Programs, perhaps you can see [ when you have the time ] what is the difference between them , because i dont know how to edit them , thnx and best wishes !!

Easy enough to see the differences get the diffmerge and isalME apps use the isalME to decompile both DSDTs load them up a file diff in diffmerge using both files and you will have the differences between them highlighted. Then you can try the changes between them until you track down the offending code.

Edit: I would add that looking at the changes made to my DSDT by MacMan I downloaded from here I see no specific to CPU used speed stepping code in there. With you having to use the NullCPU to get acceptable results with his DSDT for your board I would say that is a good starting point for you ie. put one in that DSDT specific to your CPU and all the problems may go away yours does not appear to work well with the generic OS X code.

@ar13
Nice to see u trying to get this issue solved,I tried on various places Concerning Pro Audio and how a DSDT affects performance only to be met with No responses :eek:
There is Definitely something going on as We discussed,what it is i wish i knew :oops:but it seems there are No Pro Audio/hack guru's around..............
I noticed that editing the DSDT to Not show"Startup automatically after power failure" Increases the CPU idle temps by 3-5 Degrees,so As for it being ''Proper'' in the above Post,I did not implement that edit.......Good Luck

Well to be honest, i have no idea about DSDT editing.
But i also noticed the (in my case) 5-8°C temperature Difference in Idle mode compared to Windows/Bios.

So I tried the mentioned DSDT out of curiosity and the Idle Temp. really dropped down to my Windows/Bios values.
I haven't noticed any difference in performance but maybe MacMan or someone else could take a look into the DSDT to further improve our Hackintosh experience :D
