I have a patched UEFI and could get rid of NullCPUPowermanagement nor do I need a patched AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement kext. Running 10.8.2 and having issues with sleep/wake. The computer sleeps just fine, however waking up is an issue. Both the mouse or the keyboard can't wake up the machine, the only way to achieve this is by pressing the power button, after which I get a spinning beachball of doom.

I'm not making use of a DSDT, so the big question here is whether I still need one ( none is available in the database ) or is there some other issue at hand?

thanks!

Its what I have done, I went over to http://biosrepo.wordpress.com, downloaded the patch for my motherboard ( version 270, first verified whether I had that version already installed ) and flashed it. Then I was able to remove NullCPUPowerManagement without panicing.

When browsing around there was still some mention of still requiring a DSDT, the reason that I'm considering it is because I still do not have sleep working properly, though its not really something I need, i'd like to have it anyways.

Update: I've created a DSDT for the MSI Z77A-G43 motherboard, sleep still seems to be an issue. Gonna experiment some more and will report later on what I did to try to fix it..
