Hi.
I have seen evidence that the latest beta bios for this board can help to solve the crackling and popping problems with audio.

However the guide that I have seen seems to indicate that I need to have a patch handy if I want to make my own DSDT for it.

I cant find a patch, there isn't a patch from what I can see.

Can anyone give me a clue or point me at the right resource please?

Thanks!

Thanks mate. I was hoping to get a DSDT for f12 working. The post you mention relates to f9.

However I reflashed to f9 and gave it a go and it didn't work.

I noticed you helped a guy in another thread, I will follow that tonight. Right now I will settle for booting and an external DAC.

Already into injury time with this project.

You'd do that? Wow, thanks! We're do I send donations.?

I am at work now and won't able to get to it for about 3 or 4 hours or so.

Thanks.

That motherboard has audio issue, stick with the F11 BIOS unless you are sure that the audio issue is sorted in F12 BIOS.

You can test the F12 BIOS if you want to but, before that get the system up and running on F11 BIOS. You can do the testing on the spare hard drive if you have one this way you can avoid OSX re-installations.

Tried f9, f11 f12 It just won't boot with a DSDT even the ones that you did that others have successfully used. This is my third hack now and certainly the hardest.

No usual boot flags have worked and the hurdles all seem to be ones that don't have concussion in this forum.

However, I do have it running without a dsdt just fine. My desire for one was based on the mistaken assumption that I needed one to get an Ssdt to work so that I could OC. I've since found that it's not needed on an x79. Audio I can easily solve with a class compliant usb dac.

It boots in 25 seconds my geek bench is now over 21300 and I haven't even enabled quad chanel yet or really worked on ram beyond xmp and dropping command rate to 1.

Happy days. Thanks to all who have helped and worked on this board. Personally I feel that less is more with the x79-ud3.
