DSDT Creation

So since i can not find a single dsdt for my board (or atleast one i would trust) i am going to be making my own dsdt following samisnakes guide. my question is. When creating a dsdt file, is it possible to corrupt my bios/change it all together causing my computer not to boot or any other sever damages?. basically just don't want to be without a computer.




i have tried googling for any kind of things to be cautious of or if it can do damage and looking well as searching on tonymac and after several hours the most i have found so far is something to do with improper power states possibly causing damage to the cpu

Stop freaking out. Creating DSDT or improper power states on computer will not damage the CPU or BIOS.
As long as the fans are spinning you are good.

tyvm . guess i freak out because atm this is all so new to me..just installing osx was freaking me out lol..well hopefully this will solve my ethernet issues..thanks asus for using the marvel card in my board ..

one last question..my board uses alc889 for audio..do i want the alc889 from the misc patch section or the hdef gigabyte..im assuming misc sicne my board is not a gigabyte

Download multibeast for ML from here http://www.tonymacx86.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=148

It is a post installation tool and using it you will be able to install all the drivers and a boot loader. For audio you will see 2 sections one with DSDT and the other one without.

ty for that .. im on my 3rd working install of osx. took me a while to understand SL and its now taking me a while to understand ML. I got ethernet working on SL with a legacy kext and kexthelper/utility. unfortunatly there is nothing like that for ML that works as easy let alone at all haha.i know ill still need audio kexts and all but hopefully this custom dsdt will keep kexts to a minimum and get my ethernet working as the only method that got it working was the SL method

Ok so i am at a bit of a crossroads here..after installing my dsdt file, it starts up fine, goes in and out of sleep mode just fine, reboots lightning quick(startup is still a bit of a process), audio works without any audio kexts being installed. its basically running smoother than ever but i still cant get ethernet working.

is there something i am missing here? do i need to edit in the dsdt file to get it going since there are no multibeast kexts for my Marvell 88E8056 ethernet controller?

Multibeast has Audio, Eithernet other kext (drivers).

Check the below link or search the forum for your motherboard and get Mulltibeast options..
