Hi tonaymacx86 (or others),

I saw in an earlier thread you had a pre-edited DSDT for the GA-EP45-UD3R mainboard. Googling around, I've seen an F11 file posted on another forum.

Do you happen to have one for the F12 BIOS, or a list of edits if I wanted to do it myself?

Thanks!

Upload your unedited DSDT and i,ll see what i can do. ;)

Hey Sudds - that's really kind of you. User Kalpazan PM'd his DSDT from the F12 BIOS and so far it's been working a treat.

I'm attaching it because there's many thread views, so hopefully somebody else can use this too!

For me, all I did was run MultiBeast with the attached DSDT. The only thing I selected in MultiBeast was 64 bit graphics enable.

Everything just works - video, ethernet, everything! (except Sleep of course, but not worried about that.

Thanks Tony, MacMan, Kalpazan!

Alright mate good stuff.
Can you do me one favour and post your DSDT in this thread.
Include your boards make, revision and bios.

DSDT,s for socket 775 boards.
One last question, what make of dvd drive are you using? This maybe the cause of your system not auto sleeping, i,ll take alook at your DSDT and see if anything is out of place.

Ok, none of your USB section was edited accordingly.
It has now been fixed, please try it out and report back :)

Thanks Sudds!

I gave it a shot - re-ran Multibeast with your DSDT... didn't notice any changes. System won't go to sleep properly (fans keep spinning), and won't wake up. Everything else appears to work properly.... graphics, 64 bit, sound, ethernet, WiFi, USB...

My DVD drive is an OptiArc AD-7260S, which I bought because of the recommendation.

Does it matter which option I pick in smbios.plist in Multibeast? I used Autodetect / 11,1.

Thanks!

Closer look at your DSDT, and it was a mess lad. :problem:
Did you download this DSDT from somewhere or start to edit it yourself?
Try this one:

dsdt.aml

Dont use autodetect, select User DSDT and system utilities only, test and get back to me.
If this doesnt work, am going to need a fresh unedited DSDT to look at.

Hey Sudds,

Thanks again for the help, I do appreciate it. Sorry for the delay. Firstborn on the way, so real life has been getting in the way of hackintosh testing :)

Anyway - ran Multibeast 2.6.0 with this DSDT, and similar results. Everything works - and I think I scored higher Cinebench scores than ever before, but it dies on sleep. (2.7 CPU / 18.5 FPS). In fact, this time sleep actually managed to mangle my BIOS - checksum error forced me to reset to BIOS defaults.

For an unedited DSDT, I understand you use DSDTSE. However, how do I extract a clean DSDT when I've already used Multibeast to install this custom one?

To be totally honest, if sleep is my only problem, I'm still satisfied. iMovie runs great, and that's the whole point of the exercise.

Thanks again.

Eh - good to hear!

See attached for an untouched DSDT extracted via Live CD as recommended.

Cheers
