Attached is a DSDT for the hp/Compaq DC7900 CMT (Q45/ICH10). Should work for a DC7900 SFF as well.

Extensively tested with Mountain Lion. Should work for Lion and Snow Leopard as well.

I highly recommend updating the BIOS to the highest level. A USB thumb drive installation method may not work with lower levels.

The DC7900 series supports AHCI and also eSATA. Also the DC7900 series uses an Intel gigabit LAN chip, for which a kext is available.

Hi
what did you do whit the Graphic Card it looks like the Q45 is not supported.

Hey Peter

I have a HP/ Compaq dc7900 with Core 2 Quad Q9400 energy star. I can't for the life of me get it to boot using Unibeast with Mountain Lion.

Any suggestions as to how I might go about it. Newbie and never done hackintosh before.

Thank you.

And? Did it work?
I have the same system standing next to me and was wondering if you found a way to make it work? (and how you did it ;) )

Well i did manage it of sorts.

I had to put an nvida card in the machine, I used ASUS 210 silent, works right out of the box.

I have an issue which is very strange.

Created Unibeast with ML 10.8.2 on USB.

Booted from USB.

First problem - USB Keyboard and Mouse does not work, so I used a PS/2 keyboard. and I managed to install ML on HD.

Next I ran Multibeast (with a DSDT i found on another site). Run multibeast, and reboot to ML - NO USB Keyboard or mouse.

so started again, re formated HD and installed again, run mutibeast without DSDT and without chimera only added Voodo and Intel ethernet kext and everything works. However, i can only boot from Unibeast, but that need PS2 keyboard.

Don't know what to do next - any help please?

Hi Vip

Did you get your hackintosh working?

I have the same computer model as you, but my Graphics is a GT640.
On my Unibeast USB pen i have ML 10.8.3.

I think i got the same error as you.

Is there a problem whith Multibeast/Chimera and ML 10.8.2+???

I have a dc7900 sff. Should I use a PCIe GPU or the onboard GPU is supposed to be OK for a ML hackintosh?
The onboard GPU has VGA, DP and DVI ports, should they all work? I doubt VGA would be supported...

What version of the BIOS do you mean? Online I can find 1.26 rev.A (20110815). Would that be OK?

Best,

Hello,

there's even a newer DSDT available for the DC7900 (CMT/SFF):

Additionally, you want to use the patched VoodooHDA Kext for ML which supports all Audio Jacks on the DC7900 and eliminates the crackling of the audio output:

@peterhaas: I assume that you are the original Author of the DSDT i've linked above. I got this one from a Google Groups board where you posted it. Is this the latest release available? I also want just say thank you for creating it, it works ABSOLUTELY flawless with all features.

What about the onboard graphics?
Can you confirm if it is working (or a PCIe GPU is required)?
