Heyy all, i've decided to turn my current build into a hackintosh. I have the asrock p67 extreme4 gen3 mobo and cant seem to find any support threads for it. Can anyone link my to a guide or were to find a DSDT file for it? I plan on installing lion on it.

my specs-

i72600k
gtx560ti
asrock p67 extreme 4 gen 3
16gb ram
2x1tb HDD

any help at all would really be appreciated :D

(i regret that my first post is asking for help :( )

Hey! I have a very very similar build to you which I am also interested in turning into a Hackintosh! I am running into difficulties however and, like you, require a DSDT file for it. If anyone knows how to help at all I am sure both the OP and I would be extremely grateful.

:) Thank you!

Hi there.

I have a similar rig: ASRock P67 Extreme 4, i5 2500K, 8GB GSKill Ripjaws 1333 Mhz (4x2GB) and Sapphire 5770 VaporX.

I was able to install Snow Leopard on my computer without using any DSDT and everything seemed to works fine. I didn't try onboard audio, but my Logitech G510 sound controller worked just fine.

I will now try to use a patched DSDT I created following the steps on this excellent post http://tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?t=35559. I haven't seem any patch for specific for gen3 mobo, so I'm not sure you can use the same method...

Did you ever have any luck with this? I have almost the exact same machine and am in need of a dsdt.

In my limited experience, the patches for similar motherboards from the same manufacturer are exactly the same. I compared several patches to make sure. No harm in trying the Extreme 4 patch with the Gen 3. Worst case scenario, it will KP and you will have to return to your previous set up. Worth the trouble IMHO.

Have there been any updates to this issue?

I tried compiling my own to no avail.

Thanks for the help.

I would gladly help but your config has some issues.

The GPU is not supported by OSX, the best option is to get a graphics card that would work in OSX.
Your CPU had built in HD3000 graphics which could have been used, but to use it the motherboard should have a DVI or HDMI port.
Suggest you get a cheap GPU that would work OOB.

Rest of the config looks ok.
