Hey all- just thought I'd let you all know there are a few new Gigabyte Bios updates to be had. I just updated the P55M-UD2 to Bios version F8.

If you happen to update your BIOS, let me know! I'm trying to keep MultiBeast and the DSDT Database current!

TO EXTRACT A VANILLA DSDT
Pretty much all you need to do is boot without a DSDT, and use DSDTSE to extract it. Then attach the file to this post. I'll then edit it and update this top post.

Step by Step.
1. Download your BIOS from Gigabyte's Website
2. Extract the .exe in Windows
3. Put BIOS file (about 2mb) on USB flash drive
4. Boot into OS X
5. Copy your DSDT.aml to desktop and Delete from /Extra
6. Install NullCPUPowerManagement.kext and LegacyAppleRTC.kext using MultiBeast.
7. Reboot to BIOS (Press DELETE at startup)
8. Update BIOS using QFlash Utility
9. Enter BIOS setup (CMOS Setup Utility)
10. Load Optimized Defaults (Very Important!)
11. Set SATA to AHCI
12. Set HPET to 64 bit
13. Save to CMOS
14. Boot into OS X
15. Download DSDTSE
16. Under Tools, choose Extract DSDT. The Editor will open with your DSDT.dsl all ready to edit.
17. Save that file as the name of your board and attach it here. (GA-P55M-UD2-F8.dsl)

Thanks in advance- updating is probably a good idea with these early versions of the P55 boards. There are some kinks to work out. ;)

For those of you running Windows, you can also download and install DSDTSE for Windows http://www.osx86.es/?p=883
If you're not running XP, make sure you run it in Windows XP compatibility mode.
Extract the DSDT, save it, but you won't be able to compile it unless you're running XP.
Of course this is all done after you've installed the new BIOS.
Gigabyte's @BIOS utility work well for flashing your BIOS in Windows as well, saves some hassle http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Moth ... &FileID=52 but don't use it for downloading the BIOS file, as it goes a bit funny sometimes and decides to download older BIOS versions.

Re: Latest Gigabyte P55 BIOS Updates - 2010-02

Just reporting back that I've been using the F7 DSDT +speedstep +nvidia (gts 250 1gb) with the F8 bios on the UD2 w/ an i7 860 for a couple of days with no problems.

Just finished adding speedstepping and nvidia to this one. Unfortunately can't reboot right now but will report back later today once I can.

EDIT: Rebooted, everything seems ok so far.

Updated F8 BIOS GA-P55M-UD2 DSDT w/ core i7 860 speedstep enabled and nVidia GTS 250 1gb enabled via DSDT attached

Can't see a reason why you'd want to flash back to an older BIOS, the new ones are working much better and I haven't updated my DSDT file yet, but my system is still 100% stable and working despite using a newer BIOS version.

Yeah- especially since the one in the Database is from December- it's probably not even F5. I'll get it updated in a jif.
