When I download the DSDT for my board to my desktop it's named "xxx.aml", but my computer doesn't know what type of file it is. (see picture)

Is this okay, or am I supposed to do something with it before running MultiBeast?

It'ok you can rename it as 'DSDT.aml'. Chimera or Chameleon will recognize it when you put it in the root folder of your mac hdd. or if you have an extra folder put it in there and add these strings into org.chameleon.boot.plist :
<key>DSDT</key>
<string>/Extra/DSDT.aml</string>

But i recommend you to try it before doing these. Theres and easy and safe way to do this.
-Create a folder in root and name it 'd',
-then put DSDT.aml(i assume you gonna name it like this) in that folder.
-Then when you are on the boot screen wrtite DSDT=/d/DSDT.aml -v and hit enter. ('d' s the path where your DSDT.aml is inside)
-then you'll see if it works or not. if its not reboot your machine and boot normally.
