I dont' have a DSDT at the moment but everything just seems to be working. Well, no sleep but I don't need it..

So, should I just call it a day and not worry about finding a proper/working DSDT and move on in life?

A number of people have fully working systems without a DSDT, by using the 'EasyBeast' option of Multibeast. This basically installs a couple of more kexts to achieve the same or similar functionality, as I understand it anyway.

Personally, I have always preferred a DSDT if one is available. My systems seem to run a lot smoother with them than without.

I have a similar board to you, which is sat here doing nothing, due to lacking a properly edited DSDT. Thats a real shame too because these Asus boards are really good. Excellent quality, good job on the bios and overall good functionality too. I've asked several times in the forums and to a couple of individuals for help with a DSDT, but not a single offer of assistance so far :/

Still, I shall keep a hold of the board, for now at least.

The board I have is the P8H67-I Deluxe, which i bought because of the slot for a wifi card. The mini-itx builds on here look good overall, but I wanted a system where I could use my own graphics card as well as wifi. This limits my choice down to just a few boards.

Have you looked at the 'User Builds' section to see if anyone has successfully completed a build with the board you have ?

Hey Guys,

I have the same board (ASUS P8H67-M EVO) as Finnish, also running without DSDT at the moment, but I set it up just yesterday. And I want to install a DSDT, coz it seems to make things run more smoothly and leads to better performance.

I did a lot of research here the last few days, this is my first Hackintosh, so it took a while till I got to this point (a running 10.7.2, :D yeah!) and Im really really thankful to all the great advice one can find here.
Unfortunately the P8H67-M EVO seems to be quite uncommon, at least I couldn't find a proper DSDT for it so far.

I already tried the "Creating your own DSDT for most boards" GUIDE but I failed, it didn't boot anymore after installing. also have to say that i had to fix two errors manually which DSDT Editor didn't fix itself.

Weird, to me it worked flawlessly. How did you extract your initial dsdt? Did you boot with rboot or under windows? It is crucial your extract is clean for it to work.

yea, I booted with rboot since I dont have Windows and couldnt be bothered to install it just for the dsdt. the guide says it should work with rboot too. maybe i should try it again with a Linux live CD..

by the way, I have the latest BIOS version 2001 installed. does this make any difference? maybe the patch file has to be updated to the new BIOS version first?
