Seems like many people are trusting DSDT Auto-Patcher programs to extract and modify their DSDTs. This is a great idea in theory, but in practice can lead to unidentifiable issues with booting, etc...
If these tools are working for you- great. But otherwise, do yourself a favor and use verified, pre-edited DSDTs from our DSDT Database with the exact BIOS versions. It's really the only way to know that what you're putting in your /Extra folder is not going to render your system unbootable.
If you do use an autopatcher, we recommend MaLd0n's DSDT Auto-Patcher, which has been tested at least on Gigabyte boards and works well. Extremely good job organizing generic edits for a huge amount of mobos and laptops.
