Hello! I had some success with clover as my first ever hack install. The little things such as can't shut down, no youtube, BT is working on better days, Asus N10 wifi works only around 50%- that i thought i try another install with Chimera 3.0...luckily i have time. How come z87n-wifi card is not supported in DSDT database? It is suggested mono for a long time, can i be successful without dsdt? or i have to do it manually?

Since 7 Series motherboards there is no need for a DSDT.

You should always compile your own DSDT. Everyone's DSDT is different for every BIOS revision (despite same Z87N hardware) . You should try to look in the forums and online for fixing your compile errors into .aml (ACPI Binarys).

Use MaciASL and try to compile one yourself. If it contains errors, save as a .dsl file first (disassembled DSDT) and sit-down with coffee in hand and start bug-crushing.

A good place to find common fixes is by adding the following repository to your MaciASL patches:

http://maciasl.sourceforge.net

Especially the Replace Names patch. It will save you hours of work. I recently recompiled my DSDT for the Z87n Wifi. It took me about 30mins to crush all my compile errors, and I am not a Hackintosh exit by any stretch, it can be done by mere mortals.

In my opinion, adding in DSDTs regardless if a MB needs one or not is essential. With a good DSDT, you can fine-tune your system without installing needless Kexts. They also make your hack more update proof. I needed a DSDT to get my BROADCOM BCM94352HMB Wifi card working natively among other fixes.

Feel free to post your DSDT if ever you are stuck on a particular error you can't find a solutions. Although discovering how to patch DSDT yourself makes your Hackintosh more future proof.

I'm looking into getting my DSDT compiled now. I have a working system with installed kext. I'm trying to find out if I can pull the dsdt from my system in its current state and if that would be ok or will I still have to work out the kinks in my dsdt.aml?
