Help needed: Gigabyte GA-H61M-S1 socket1155

Virigin Hackintosher here.

I have OSX Mavericks currently installing on a machine with a Gigabyte GA-H61M-S1 USB2.0 motherboard.

I've read what I can on DSDT and I can't find out whether my motherboard requires DSDT, and if so, what to do. The DSDT database on this site doesn't list my model.

Any help will be appreciated

A DSDT should not be required IF you have a board with UEFI/Bios. The onboard 15 pin d-sub will not allow you to boot. A compatible GPU will be required. It is easier to plan in advance and solve potential issues before they happen.

Yes, I should've done more reading before diving in I chose my components based on a published list of a working system, so I knew they would work. However the DSDT requirements had me stumped as I am new to this and didn't fully understand it.

It turns out my motherboard does have UEFI so editing DSDT was not necessary. I needed to set the BOIS settings correctly however.

Incidentally, for anyone else with this motherboard, this is what I did to set up the UEFI/BIOS:

1. To enter the UEFI on a Gigabyte motherboard, press the delete key when your computer boots (before the operating system starts).
2. When in the UEFI dashboard, reset your UEFI settings to their default by pressing the "F7" key.
3. Set boot option 1 to 'UEFI - [YOUR HDD]' (first time you need to set this to your USB so you can boot from unibeast, then come back and change it to this later)
4. Sata mode = AHCI
5. EHCI Hand-off = enabled
6. "F10" to save and exit

I then had a problem which took me an age to resolve. I got the 'Boot0' error when booting (unless the unibeast USB stick was still connected).

This problem is to do with the size of byte sectors on my HDD. It affects HDDs using the larger 4k byte sector size, and the thing that stumped me was the specs of my Western Digital Blue Caviar 1TB say it is 512MB. This is incorrect, it is actually 4k, so I needed to follow the instructions here:

this video tutorial makes the process of fixing the boot0 error a little clearer, although the command in terminal needed to be exactly as specified in the above link rather than that in the video (correct code copied below)
All working fine now. Phew.

Hopefully this will be of use to other virgin Hackintoshers!

Update: it didn't work straight away with ethernet so I had to add the Realtek driver from Multibeast.

Glad that you made good progress

I can recommend that you use dDisk Utility to repair permissions to your HDD/SSD after making changes. It keeps system error to a minimum.

I have same motherboard with i3 2105 3.1Ghz processor. I tried to install mavericks 10.9.3. I have put mentioned above on BIOS. WHen I tried to install mavericks with unibeast flash drive apple logo spins and spins and system hangs out. I have connected using VGA does VGA connection to do anything with not able to install mavericks.

The motherboard has only VGA no DVI or HDMI.

Experienced people in the forum could guide me.

I bought this motherboard after looking at successful builds.

Please help.

I am using Gigabye(Model No.- GA-H61M-WW), Intet Processor(i3-3rd Generation) and 4 GB Ram.
When I fully install Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10 .raw file in my PC and install MultiBeast - Yosemite 7.1.1 software to patch Mac OS. I have a problem which is "restart my PC and when opening then time not open by without pindrive, only boot loading and some time waiting then automatically shut down my PC"

If this is your motherboard then you will need to use a discrete graphics card as the VGA (15 pin din) socket is unsupported:

You must have a digital connection from the motherboard and a processor that supports HD3000 or HD4000 graphics (socket 1155 hardware).

If you boot using -v then it will probably not be able to progress past the bluetooth controller text when you read the verbose boot - that is the point that the graphics start to load. Unsupported graphics cannot get past this point.

No they can only work with a DVI-D, HDMI or DisplayPort connection. As your board does not have any of these I suggest that you get a compatible GPU (graphics card) - a cheap GT610 should make installation possible. You may need to use a bootflag at Step 4 (USB selection screen) of the main 10.10. installation guide
