Hi Guys,

I have just started the conversion of my humble desktop to a Hackintosh. My specs are as follows:

OS: Mountain Lion

CPU- i7 3770K
Motherboard- Asrock Z77-Pro4-M
Graphics Internal - Intel HD4000
Graphics PCI-E - Sapphire ATI HD7950 (currently disconnected)
Memory - G Skill 8gb (2x4gb) DDR3 1333Mhz PC3-10666 CL9 (8GBRL)

Audio: Realtek ALC892 Audio Codec
Ethernet: Realtek RTL8111E

I have managed to install OSX ML by disconnecting my HD7950 and running with the onboard Intel HD4000 graphics driver. I also had to use the -x terminal command to complete the installation and now I need it each time I want to restart.

I have also installed the modded bios however have not done post installation with multi beast yet.

Can someone please help me with a custom DSDT and advise which drivers to install with Multibeast to reach stability?

Also when can I connect my HD7950 back in and get some gaming power back? How do I install drivers for that? what should the steps be?

I have attached my DSDT for anyone willing to help.

Thanks
Dewangb

So a quick update on my efforts:

I installed Multibeast with only the basic:

  • ALC892 audio driver (without DSDT)
  • Realtek - Lnx2Mac's RTL81X Ethernet drivers
  • Chimera V2.1.2 bootloader

With this configuration I can boot into OSX without any parameters however there is significant artefacting from the HD4000 inbuilt graphics which renders the windows and text boxes unreadable. So I am back to loading into safe mode.

If I install my 7950 I get a boot error before OSX even has a chance to start.

I think I am missing something to do with the graphics drivers.

Let me know if someone can render assistance.

Thanks Dewangb

Flash the BIOS with modded BIOS rom to avoid any post installation issues > http://biosrepo.wordpress.com/asrock/z77/

More info on modded BIOS and why its recommended > http://www.tonymacx86.com/dsdt/47397-msi-asrock-foxconn-1155-patched-bios-thread.html

Once you flash the BIOS set the BIOS as per below.

Advance > Advanced\North Bridge Configuration
Primary Graphics Adapter > IGPU (When using HD4000) PCI (When you Graphics card)*
Share Memory > 64MB (When using HD4000) AUTO (When you Graphics card)*
Render Standby > Disabled*

Advanced\South Bridge configuration
Deep Sleep > Enabled in S5*

Advanced Storage Configuration
SATA Mode > AHCI*
Hard disk SMART > Enabled*

Advanced\Super IO config > Serial Port - Disable

Advanced ACPI conf
Suspend to RAM > Disabled*
ACPI HPET Table > Enabled*
RTC Alarm power on > by OS*
reset of the option here is disabled.

Not so imp settings but runs the build super quite. Once you bootin fans are controlled by OSX.
HW Monitor
CPU FAN > Level 2
Chassis fan settings > Level 4

2, Complete a fresh installation of Mountain Lion.
3, Extract a DSDT and attach.

Ok,

I have installed the patched bios for my Mobo from the link and applied all of the settings in the Bios as advised.

I ran with the onboard HD4000 (with 64mb shared memory) with the HD7950 installed but not used for the time being.

I installed a fresh copy of ML and the DSDT is attached.

First get the build up and running using HD4000 and do some reading on the forum about the 7xxx GPU.

To get the build up and running on HD4000
1, Connect the monitor to on-board DVI or HDMI.
2, Set the below BIOS Settings.

Advance > Advanced\North Bridge Configuration
Primary Graphics Adapter > IGPU
Share Memory > 64MB
Render Standby > Disabled*

3, If you have done a fresh installation boot into OSX using Unibeast drive.
4, Download the attached DSDT and unzip it and keep it on the desktop and run the Multibeast for mountain lion with below settings and reboot.

Ok,

So after running Multibeast and restarting the PC I get a hang with the following error (image below). Regardless of what parameter I use (-x, GraphicsEnabler=No) it always hangs in the same place and does not proceed.

Any ideas on what the problem could be?

Does this DSDT do all that is needed then? Is it for BIOS (Modified) 1.60 or which version? Version 2.00 was out at that time but not patched?
