Hi Everyone,
I thought I'd put up my system to get an idea. My CPU and RAM are both overclocked.

Mobo: ASUS P5Q3 DELUXE AP/N
Cpu: Core 2 Quad Q9550 (E0 stepping) (4.0Ghz)
Ram: 2x2GB Corsair XMS3 1600mhz + 1x4GB Corsair XMS3 1600 Mhz (Ocd to 1866Mhz)
GPU: ATI RADEON HD 5770 (Sapphire)
HDD: WD Velecoiraptor

My concerns are the Ethernet drivers included in Multibeast that won't work for my onboard ethernet.

Any other ideas?

no problem extremefacepainter,

i had the DDR2 version of your mobo up until recently and i used a modified AppleYukon2.kext (see attachment)

All you need to do to get your Marvell 88E8056 LAN port working is locate your IONetworkingFamily.kext and this is found in S/L/E (System/Library/Extentions) then place it on your desktop

Right Click IONetworkingFamily.kext

Click Show Package Contents

Double Click Contents

Double Click PlugIns

Drag the my unzipped AppleYukon2.kext in there

exit

Open KextBeast and run the installer to install your now modified IONetworkingFamily.kext

if it doesn't work right away then you might need to Reboot and you should be good to go ;)

I have also included ADI AD2000B Audio Kext for your mobo, just unzip Sound AD2000B P5Q Deluxe.zip and place all four kexts on your desktop and Run KextBeast installer and you should be good

Thank You very much! I was thinking about shelling out 500$ for a new CPU and Mobo, but no longer must I do that.

The kext for Audio Installed perfectly. The ethernet kext did not work though. I followed all steps... I have two ports on my Board, I tried both neither worked. Any ideas?

Hi extremefacepainter,

my P5Q Deluxe mobo been replaced with my current build now so i cannot go back and test it for you

but the 2 LAN ports are not the same as one of them is a Marvell 80E8056 Lan Port and the other is Marvell 88E8001 Lan port

the kext i uploaded only works with Marvell 80E8056 and that is LAN Port 1 which is the LAN port closest to the Audio ports

- you can test your LAN ports without an OS installed because the P5Q Deluxe has a function called Express Gate which you can enable in the BIOS (it's basically Linux on a ROM chip). You can browse the net in Express Gate and see your Lan Port activity so try that first to make sure your connections are good.

- Also make sure you are running the latest BIOS version.

- Are You using a DSDT or EasyBeast? I used a DSDT with mine although that should not really matter with LAN

- Did you try installing any LAN kext prior to realising no MultiBeast LAN support with your mobo ?

if Y then you should go back to MultiBeast and have a look at the description as to what files MultiBeast installed. You could then locate thoses files and delete them to prevent any conflicts.

- In your Extra folder, you should have a file called org.chamelon.Boot.plist (viewable in TextEdit) and this must have two lines of code for LAN to work, the code is as follows

Code:
<key>EthernetBuiltIn</key>
<string>Yes</string>

I have re-inspected the Kext i uploaded and i cannot see anything wrong with it (i know what was modified there) so should work

you could try repairing permission (Diskutilites > "Your Mountain Lion drive" > Repair Permissions) then a reboot

failing that go back the IONetworkingFamily.kext and delete AppleYukon2.kext, repair permission, reboot and then start again as per my original instructions

Robbish
