So this was really the first big metal project I had ever done, me only being a high school student with very little experience. Thankfully my dad is an engineer and he was able to help me out and get parts cut at his workshop.
For the power supply he cleverly cut a tunnel of sorts to allow the power chord and on-off switch to be accessed from the outside of the case.
I claim credit for most of the planning, as I did not like the look of fans seen through the front of the case, I wanted to keep the G5 look as much as possible, I simply added my own flavor by putting the glowing fans on the bottom.
The front IO panel only has the power and LED working, as those are really the only ones I needed, and having to do the wiring myself, I thought I would keep it simple. The diagram is out there on the vast internet for those who want to do the same.
Installation was painful, it took me an entire week of 4 hour days trying to get the darn Mac OS X installed, but I finally got it through the combination of many different sources. If anyone would like me to post my methods I will. But now the Hackintosh is working well on Lion 10.7.4, as that is where the hardware works best I have found. I will probably upgrade my motherboard in the future, but for now it is working fine!
Thanks for checking out my Mod! I hope it inspires you, as the many mods on this forum have inspired me!
