Having trouble getting to ML, what options do I have?

I've been using my SL hackintosh for nearly 2 years. Went to buy ML and had to upgrade 1st. The upgrade failed and now my hackintosh will not boot.

I used SuperDuper! to do a full backup to a new USB IOmega ext drive, but it's NOT bootable :( they say to set it bootable using a mac... I don't have a mac.

I upgraded my bios to FF then FH to see if that would make the SL upgrade boot, no luck.

I want to buy ML. I know ML is on fileshare sites, but I'd like to pay for it.

Can I use the fileshare site version of ML, get it running, then buy ML from Apple?

Can I sign up for a 'mac in the cloud' to buy ML? Would it allow me to buy ML thru a 'cloud' mac?

    I'm running a Win7 64 right now, I CAN'T buy ML using it.

Some on CraigList are selling ML on a bootable USB, but that still doesn't get me to a legal purchase of ML.

I'm am learning App development and don't want Apple to know I'm on a Hackintosh, so if I do go the fileshare/CL USB route, will Apple know I never bought ML?

When you copy the filesystem with SuperDuper that's great, but it doesn't copy over the hacked bootblocks. A short-term workaround is to boot off another disk (e.g. a UniBeast stick, or the original boot disk) that has the Chimera bootblocks and interrupt the boot to select the backup disk to boot off. I've done this a lot recently.

I think your best path is to find a machine that's running 10.[678], log into the App Store as you, and buy+download ML. Then copy the Install Mountain Lion app off to removable storage (and/or make a UniBeast stick then and there).

This machine might be a friend's or colleague's. Do you know anyone local to you who has a working OS X machine?

You don't need a Mac, you can download iBoot from the forum downloads in Windows, burn the ISO to a disk and boot the iBoot disk. You should see your USB backup disc icon at the Chimera screen - select it and hit enter.

Ok, my iBoot is about 2 years old, so maybe that's why it didn't see the USB. I'll burn a new iBoot.

As far as knowing someone with a mac, I don't. Everyone has a WinDoze PC :( I was even looking at renting one, but did see anything out there, that's why I thought of the cloud, but those probably wouldn't allow an upgrade/download of ML.

Since you are probably running 32 bit SL and ML is 64 bit and you will be doing a clean install anyway, and you already have a cloned backup, why not do a clean install of SL, update to 10.6.8, download ML and proceed from there?
