I am in the process of building a custom personal computer and really don't want to use Windows 7 if I can help it. I'm leaning towards doing a clean install of 10.8 Mountain Lion (purchasing from the APP Store and putting it on a DVD). What is involved with doing a clean install of Mountain Lion on a custom PC (how and what do I need)? Again I don't want Windows on the system. My other question is, are my components compatible with Mountain Lion and how do I tweak them for optimal performance? Is there anything I should be aware of before I go ahead with this build, e.g. reliability, stability issues and so on? Thanks.

CPU: i7-3770
MB: Asus P8Z77-V
RAM: 16Gb G. Skill Ripjaws x Series
VC: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 650 1024MB DDR3
HD: WD Black 2TB SATA3 7200RPM 64MB Cache
Audio: Onboard
Optical Drive: Pioneer BDR-207 Blu Ray Writer
Monitor: Asus PA238Q
Time Capsule: Internal HD in an enclosure, WD Green 2TB SATA3 6Gb/s 64MB
Case: BitFenix Raider ATX Mid Tower
Keyboard: BT Logitech Keyboard
Mouse: BT MS Mouse

Thanks. No Issues with the WIFI/BT on the MB, VC with YouTube or the HD as a boot drive? As well, how should I partition a 2TB drive for a MAC?

WIFI on board won't work.

How about Bluetooth? Any way to get the WIFI to work? How about Sleep in OS? Lastly, are the issues regarding GeForce GTX 650 fixed or should I be considering a different VC? Thanks.

If I change the MB to a Gigabyte GA-Z77X UD5 WB (the board seems to be the same as the UP5 minus the Thunderbolt), would that work better than the ASUS MB with Mountain Lion? Will there still be issues with the sleep function and it comes with an add on card for Bluetooth and WIFI, will those now work or will it have the same issues as the ASUS P8Z77-V with the built in Bluetooth and WIFI where it won't work?

Just get the UD5 without the wifi. The card is useless since there are no OS X drivers for it.
Use a bluetooth dongle and a PCIe wifi card recommended in several posts - search is your friend.
