I'm almost done with my research of components. I will get a budget Customac Mini 2011-2012. ;)

Core i3-2125 (using HD3000)
GA-B75M-D3H
2x4GB Corsair XMS3 PC1333
Silverstone TJ08
SSD 120GB
(Crucial M4 or Samsung 830 depending on availability. or OCZ.)
OSX Lion (or ML... not sure at this moment)

Maybe later a GT430 if I can't run dual display. Maybe also additional HDDs for TimeMachine, etc.

Last but not least important: the PSU !

A quick look on thermaltake calculator gives me 220W (with a possible future GT430 and HDD)

I read about the 80+ efficiency, the silent PSU, the fanless which is not always silent because can be electronic noise, etc. But in the end, I'm still confused and don't know what to choose.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions and comments.

Budget: 50-60 ($/€)
Power: I'm not so sure. I guess 300W is sufficient. But can I avoid any electronic buzzing, by taking at 400W, which will run at lower ?
Fanless vs Quiet?: Fanless is complete silence. But on the other hand, if it's too hot in the case and start doing some electronic noise... It would be stupid. Better take a well known silent PSU?

I'm planning to buy in the future a be Quiet! Straight Power E9-400W. Because these same reasons.( quiet, quiet and quiet)

Is it something with 80+ or 80+ bronze/silver/gold?
Or just a known quiet PSU?

How much power your system is going to use?

I haven't checked the pricing on any of these, but check out:

The website is solely devoted to quiet components. Maybe you can find a model in their that fits your budget.

I have a quiet Antec 350W PSU in an HTPC build at home, but I don't remember the model number off-hand since it's so old. It may not even be available anymore, but I can check it when I get home tonight. It's pretty darn quiet.

Use Google... bitte schön!
But yes, this is the most quietest PSU I have found so far in the affordable category.

And a test if it helps.

Thanks Alan!
i have read this review too.
But there are really few in the list. Not many choices.
And it is usually some top high end (top price) PSU.

Still it's a great website with lots of info. Like the explanation about efficiency, history of these standards, etc.

Use Google... bitte schön!.

I was looking on amazon.at
and there is nothing about 80+ nor Gold.
But you are right. On their website, be quiet gives all spec. 80+ Gold
and double right ! It's just 65€ which is still reasonably.

Thanks for the tip!
Looks like a winner.

Ooops, I had assumed you are a native "Austrian" and because of this I thought the german test could help.

So I just checked my PSU at home. It's an Antec SmartPower. Unfortunately, it appears that it's been discontinued. Pretty great, though.
