Hi All,

New to this forum and the world of Hackintosh's and need some advice.

I have the following and want ot switch some parts and make it a Hackintosh, where on earth do I start? I assume mother board and CPU, but what are my options on a limited budget?

Also, have never owned aPC before let alone built one so its all a steep learning curve.

Hope someone can help.

Thanks,
Chris.

AMD nor Atom CPUs and NVIDIA, ATI, VIA or SIS desktop chipsets are not supported by the methods and software on this site and will not work. Any post requesting help for or asking about these will be deleted

Apple do not use AMD processors so there is no support for them in OS X.

Sorry if this line wasn't clear enough:

"I have the following and want to switch some parts and make it a Hackintosh, where on earth do I start?"

I am expecting to have to switch to an Intel CPU, and a different motherboard, but thats all I know at this stage so what I am after is advice on what compatible parts will work with what I currently have and result in a build that is easily hackintoshable.

You have good timing. Check out this motherbaord... very good price. http://www.tonymacx86.com/deals-day...ard-67-98-shipped-after-10-dollar-rebate.html

And then search for an i3 4370 or i3 4170... look for best price.

With the swap of the motherboard and CPU you should be able to have a good experience with OS X.

Good modding,
neil

Thanks so much for the help, as stated, I am clueless with this.

And that motherboard will fit in my case with no issues? Easy to fit? Oh and I am UK based but will hunt for the same one...

Thanks again.

Yes, your HTPC case will fit up to an ATX size board so mATX will be no problem.
The H97M should be easy to find in the UK. Gigabyte is now the largest motherboard
manufacturer in the world, they're sold in most countries that use PC technology.

Thanks again.
Will I have any issues with the ram?

You'll need to check the Gigabyte QVL for that motherboard. Then
after you build, test it with Memtest 86+ for at least 3-4 hours.
Longer is always better. If it doesn't pass the tests simply RMA
it or contact Corsair for warranty service.
