Since the inclusion of Asus boards, is there any reason to choose a Gigabyte board over an Asus one?

I have a H220x water cooler and I need all the PWN fan headers I can get, including BIOS control over them.

Gigabyte has none or little control and my Z87M-D3H has a busted sensor on the that misreports 127 degree celsius. Or the board is missing a sensor that some of the the monitor apps look for and therefore defaults to max. I have seen some people say it is a bug in FakeSMC but *I doubt that is the case. Mine behaves the same under Windows.

Any issues I should be aware of?

No. The Asus is just as good a board as the Gigabyte. The only reason MSI and Asrock boards are not in the list is the locked CPU MSR in their BIOS/EFI implementation that continues to require a patch to allow OS X to write to MSR so AICPUPMManagement kext does not cause a KP.
