Hey all, long time lurker and just taking in knowledge from you guys. Last year, I built a hack with the Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H & the EVGA GTX 770 and haven't had any issues.

I'm interested in the LG 34UM95 and was wondering will I get full resolution (I'm assuming the 770 shouldn't have any problems) via the DVI plugs or do I need to use the Display Port or TB2? If the latter is the answer, can I just upgrade my motherboard to a newer board or do I have to reinstall OS, etc?

Thanks in advance

According to nVidia the GTX770 mac res is 4096x2160.

The LG, according to the spec sheet is 3440x1440.

Can't see any reason it won't work unless OS X native drivers won't handle it.

Try it and let us know.

GoingBald, thanks. Any thoughts on the adding a new motherboard? Do I need to do a clean install or should I be able to just swap?

Depends on what kexts you added for the old board to work and if they cause a kp on the new board.
Do you know what you added? Have you patched AppleHDA? Is the new board audio codec same as the old board? Same question for the NIC and networking.

Suggest a clean install and use Migration Assistant to move files from the old backup.
