I love my hackintosh and would hate to have to go back to windows but i need more cores/threads to fuel my rendering needs, if anybody has built a fully running OS X platform on dual lga2011 motherboard, would you be so kind as to share the motherboard version you succeeded with.

I have looked on these forums but can not find a clear answer. I have also looked in the buyers guide and there's no dual cpu boards in the list.

Ok done lots of reading and it appears that there are quiet a few running dual cpu's - amazing what the write search phrase can reveal innit!

So here goes nothing but lots of pennies, here's is what I will be attempting ...

E5-2620v2 x 2 (Obviously)
SuperMicro X9DAE
32Gb DDR3 1600 4 x 8 Gb modules
NVidia GTx 660Ti
NanoXia Deep Silence 2 case

If anyone has comments or hints, it would be great to hear from you - Will start building as soon as mother board arrives

I just finished building a similar system using the X9DAi system using one E5-2630v2 CPU, 64G RAM, and an old ATI HD 3870 video card. The system works great, and the only thing that does not work is the on-board audio (but I have a USB audio device that is working fine). I am ordering another heat-sink today and will be installing the second CPU early next week.

Here are the detailed MultiBeast settings I used to get everything working:

Quick Start > EasyBeast
Drivers > Disk > Intel Generic AHCI SATA
Drivers > Misc > ElliottForceLegacyRTC
Drivers > Misc > EvOreboot
Drivers > Misc > FakeSMC v6.11.1328
Drivers > Misc > FakeSMC v6.11.1328 Plugins
Drivers > Misc > FakeSMC v6.11.1328 HWMonitor Application
Drivers > Misc > NullCPUPowerManagement
Drivers > Network > Intel > AppleIGB v5.2.9.4
Bootloaders > Chimera v4.0.0
Customize > Boot Options > Basic Boot Options
Customize > Boot Options > Generate CPU States
Customize > Boot Options > GraphicsEnabler=Yes
Customize > Boot Options > IGPEnabler=No
Customize > Boot Options > Kext Dev Mode
Customize > Boot Options > Use KernelCache
Customize > System Definitions > Mac Pro > Mac Pro 6,1
Customize > Themes > tonymacx86 remixed

Let me know if you need anything else.

Three days and still not running Yosemite 10.10 :(
I can get Mavericks running in safe mode only but with no NICs working and other issues that won´t allow me to connect up usb devices.

Not giving yet :)

I am slowly loosing the will to live with this !

Martin

No onboard audio yet, but I have a USB Audio device (Logitech headset) that is working very well.
