Not sure, but isn't this kind of missing the point of Hackintoshes? It's just as limiting in terms of customisation and expandability as a Mac mini, albeit with a decent mobile GPU.

I would choose a mATX build personally....

Anyway..I think finding out the manufacturer of the motherboard would be the fist step in finding out whether this is hackable.

You are right. The mother board it uses is crucial to hackintosh. If is used the same motherboard as Intel NUC or its close variance then EN760 can be used as a OS X Steam Box.

This is what I can find online:

Well currently there is no support in Apple OS X for the Nvidia Maxwell chip set so that puts a lid on it from the git go.

Good modding,

Hello!

Bought a Zotac EN760 1 week ago and have so far tried Windows 7 (boots in 5s with samsung msata ssd) Ubuntu 14.10 and now Yosemite.

I can tell you that it was a mess to get it working with Yosemite.

First of all for the installation I used Unibeast to create a USB drive installer. I did not choose the laptop installer option but kept it clean.

The absolute first thing I encountered was a reboot as soon as the apple logo comes up on the screen, fixed this by replacing the kernel with a Yosemite xpcm-free kernel (apparently fixes problems with newer haswell processors).

I had to remove the following kexts from the /System/Library/Extensions/
* All kexts related to bluetooth
* All NVD* kexts
* All AMD* kexts
* All Intel related graphics kexts

Also removed all kexts but the FakeSMC from the /Extras/Extensions/ folder.

In BIOS i disabled VT and set the Intel Graphics card to 64mb. Also disabled USB3.0 since I have read posts on other forums saying that you cannot use USB3.0 with the installer. Now i finally got past all kernel panics and white screen with mouse pointer that did not do anything.

I have just installed the system successfully and will try to start adding kexts one by one. (Some of my steps above might not be needed but they worked for me at least)

Will update this thread with my findings, have been looking at the Maxwell enabler kexts, I guess I will wrestle with that the next couple of days.

----------------------------------

As for the performance of the machine in general:

* Great hardware for the price, can emulate Wii or GC in 1080p without a hitch.
* More silent than my Mac Mini 2011 with dedicated AMD graphics card.
* I have never heard the fans rev up even during the small gaming sessions I have had for testing it.
* Wifi reception is great and the speed is good.
* Fits 1 msata drive plus one regular 2.5" sata drive.

So today I am writing this post from OS X on my Zotac Zbox EN760. I have full graphics support (AFAIK) and everything is running smooth.

From yesterday I have re-enabled my bios setting for VT support which made the computer easier to boot in general. I am still using the Unibeast USB-drive to boot.

I have installed the Maxwell enabler 0.3 and Nvidia web drivers. When booting the system I just enter "nvda_drv=1" as the only boot flag and the computer boots up fine with graphics.

Im still figuring out what drivers to use and managed to get the wired LAN working by installing some Realtek drivers (I installed a bunch of them so one of the drivers clearly did the trick) and now I can see the two LAN ports in Network preferences.

I installed steam and tried GRID2 and it worked like a charm with no hickups.

Things that are left to do:

* Wifi kext
* Sound kext (with HDMI audio)
* Power management?

Your guide really helped me along the hackintoshing of the en760.
However, turning on VT led me to kernel panics, so I always boot it with VT off.

This one was a tricky one, so thanks for the guide :)

Also, do you know how to get the Integrated gigabit ethernet controller and HDMI audio to work?
So far, USB audio is fine but HDMI doesn't get detected. Currently using Voodoo 2.7.3

Hello F4OR!

I have got HDMI Audio working on my machine by using some nice kext package i found on github. Im a bit busy and do not really have access to the machine tonight but I can give you links and steps for the rest of my setup tomorrow.

Ethernet also works, as I said i can give you links tomorrow.

I could not get WiFi and Bluetooth to work since the chip in the EN760 is relatively new and I guess no drivers have been ported to OSX yet.

Thanks Sunblade!
Links would be really helpful :)
