Hello there, Are there any gurus on here that can help me as I wish to build the top recommended July 2014 - CustoMac Pro Socket 2011 - version

I want to build this machine for video editing. But there are pieces of the build missing as I will also need, monitor, sound card, speakers, keyboard
and mouse.

  • Does the the Asus Rampage Genie IV board have onboard sound? or do I need a sound card? if so which card is compatible and recommended for this build for Hachintosh?
  • Are the G. Skill Ripjaws Z series better than the Crucial Ballistic? and would they work in the above board?
  • Also would the Corsair 100H cooler work instead of the Corsair H60? Reason I was thinking because the 100H can fit in the top slot in the 600T case.
  • Keyboard question: What keyboard would I buy for a dual boot win 8.1 / OSX Mavericks machine? Should I go wireless if so what is a compatible model?
  • Mouse? wired or wireless? Are there compatablity issues with the mouse?

  • I will need a quality 23in monitor, which one is available that will work with this build and that is close in quality to a retna display?

Is this build recommendation seamless running Hackintosh with Mavericks ? are there any bugs that I would encounter with the hardware/software?

I noticed this note:

As of OS X 10.9.2, Ivy Bridge E/EP based systems are working with the native kernel, however workarounds are necessary for full support.

What does that exactly mean, if I build this system?:?:

Thanks in Advance,

Terminetor

Onboard audio is working with Toleda's patched AppleHDA.kext found in multibeast or generated by his script.

I use GSkill but I can't say if it's better as I've never used crucial. I can say that my ram has been 100% stable and issue free at it's XMP1 of 2133.

The CPU cooler has no software to interact with OS X so if corsair specs it to work with your CPU, then it should work. Just make sure to get the correct model or mounts for your socket.

I use an apple wired keyboard.

I use a wired USB Logitech thumb trackball mouse but that's just my preference. Any mouse should work if it's meant to work in OS X. Turbine seaplane linked to a good USB Bluetooth dongle that you'll want if you're using an apple trackpad or wireless keyboard. See my golden build for Eric.

Any monitor should work as long as your gpu will dive the resolution. NOTE: Some generic monitors and HDTVs may have issues with EDID detection.

Use of patched ACPI files and kexts are needed for native CPUPM. Please see my build and guides for further explanation.

I read a post into ROG forum that Corsair ddr3 can have issues with R4E mb, so it's better to so G-Skill is the better choice
