Sup guys! Like I already mentioned, I'm a newbie at this kind of stuff. I've always been interested in building my own computer, but never liked windows that much. With me about to head off into college, I felt it was time to upgrade from my Macbook Pro 7,1 and get the new Mac Pro. I was so excited until I customized it and got a rather large price tag. Screen Shot 2014-04-08 at 9.31.45 AM.pngI want a set up like this one, but with something a little bit cheaper. I don't mind spending a bit of money, I plan on using this for college and to start of my career in animation. Just not THIS much money. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Thanks! I checked it out and found out a lot of good information, only probably is I really need a 6 core processor, and I didn't see any that we're supported.Any tips?

I also really want a motherboard with thunderbolt 2 connections, or at least thunderbolt 1. And one that can handle 64gb of ram if needed

I don't know about compatibility with OS X, but there are thunderbolt PCI cards.

I personally would go with faster Ram, like 1866Mhz or higher. But that might just be me.

Jack, there are a few problems with your choices. The CPU is socket 2011 and the motherboard
is socket 1150. They obviously won't work together. The UD7-TH is also limited to 32 GB of ram.
To get what you want you'll need to wait for X99 motherboards and Haswell E cpus to be released
sometime later this year. What you are asking for isn't possible right now.
