Ok I am building a new hackintosh..I am going to buy an
Intel Core i7-3770K + 1gb graphic card seperately .I am building this machine on a very tight budget...This machine will mainly be used for music production and for learning software related to music production like Logic Pro..And Pro Tools..I am bit in a confusion on buying the motherboard.....Plz answer my questions ..It will be of great help.....
1)Should I buy an atx motherboard or a matx size motherboard..(will size have any effect).?
2)Will a gigabyte h61 series motherboard which is a lot cheaper than z77 series do?
3)Will buying an atx motherboard or matx have any effect on the processing power ?
4)Above all will my music production related software like logic pro and pro tools hang or lag ?

Thanks in advance

You could use an mATX board just fine - if you want to overclock then a ATX z77 is better.

2)Will a gigabyte h61 series motherboard which is a lot cheaper than z77 series do?

Use an Ivy Bridge CPU and 77 series board for best compatability

3)Will buying an atx motherboard or matx have any effect on the processing power ?

Its about expansion and features

4)Above all will my music production related software like logic pro and pro tools hang or lag ?

It should all work fine, but head over to the music part of the forum and you will find loads of information. Its holiday time for many at the moment, so if asking questions please be patient.

Z77 should be your choice if you want to overclock.
Best is to follow the buyers guide from tony: http://www.tonymacx86.com/365-building-customac-buyer-s-guide-june-2013.html

mATX just has less PCIe slots and is smaller, that's it for the difference.

Thanks ,I know it has good feature of overclocking but I am on a very tight budget ..I will later buy it if required but as for now will it do?Will an h61 do ?.... I want to just use Logic pro for learning purpose and simple music compositions..without any lag ..So will it do Thank you for your cooperation :)

h61 is old. you can get h77/b75/q77/q75 boards the same price/cheaper than you can get new h61 boards for, so makes no sense to go with h61.

The buyers guide features a handful of some of the easier boards to get running from Gigabyte for those that are new to Hackintosh. There are other boards that will work as samisnake was alluding to. Some boards from MSI, ASRock and Asus will also work.

I suggest doing a little more research over on the music part of the forum, before settling on a particular board. Some boards even in the buyers guide have some issues with audio. Make sure that your choice reflects your priorities rather than someone else's.

Buyers Guide - http://www.tonymacx86.com/section/295-customac.html

If you do not have access to a Mac that can download Mountain Lion from the App Store then watch this guide : http://www.tonymacx86.com/mountain-...bridge-unibeast-installation-video-guide.html

Due to some hardware that Apple has used in the past being incompatible with some of the modern version of OSX. Apple checks some basic hardware details before allowing you to download Mountain Lion. In order to be able to get to the App store , the hardware must be running OSX 10.6.8

The first thing to have a look at is this video - it lays out the steps required in getting to the App Store to download Mountain Lion.

Q.) Can I just use Snow Leopard?
A.) Snow Leopard only supports hardware that was available up to 10.6.8 release, then Apple released 10.7 which supported new hardware.

After that has been completed, you then use this guide for Mountain Lion : http://www.tonymacx86.com/61-unibeas...-based-pc.html

I hope that this gives you a better understanding of the process that is required.

EDIT - One other VERY important fact is that OSX does not support VGA, you will need to use DVI-D or HDMI
