Clover and Debian 8

I managed to dual boot el capital and windows 10 without any problems with the new clover-Unibeast method. However, after installing debian 8 (efi), clover doesn't see my debian installation, so the only way I can boot to debian is through the UEFI. My motherboard is an Asus z97 pro wifi ac. I have tried almost everything without result.

It makes me wonder how can I add debian to clover's boot list. Or maybe I can't? Should have been better to install debian first and el capitan last? Do I need to install ubuntu for clover to see my Linux installs?

p.s. My windows 10, el capitan and debian installments are all on separate hard drives.

Yes of course. Everything is efi and on different hdds. I also copied debian's efi folder to the el capitan's efi partition, if that is what you mean. I don't know if I did something wrong with the path.

/dev/disk0 is my windows hdd
/dev/disk1 is my el capitan hdd where clover is installed
/dev/disk2 is my debian hdd

Windows boots from clover, but not debian... I wonder whether debian is not compatible.
 
I guess , problem is, you have multiple EFI partition. So Clover boots from disk1 with his config files.
Than looks for other OS, presumable on EFI of disk0 and finds Windows.

So , if you switch of disk0, I guess it will see linux (you have copied the EFI folder from disk2 to disk1 before).

On my installation with clover and Ubuntu/OSX I have to boot from the screw-wrench, not the penguin.

Are you using the stable version of Grub or the one from Debian8 testing? The one from the stable version has problems with EFI booting.
Take a look at http://tanguy.ortolo.eu/blog/article51/debian-efi and see if this procedure will work for you.
 
Well I installed linux mint and everything is ok out of the box! Thank you guys for your answers and critical info. My Debian version was stable, but probably my mistake was that I didn't define an efi partition explicitly during Debian installation. I will try again in the future with debian and see if this works. However, the strange thing is that clover configurator found an efi partition next to the main partition of debian, where I could find grub... So at first I thought that everything was ok!!! So I will try again and will report back to you.
 
Ok guys... I did my testings... it seems that clover doesn't want to co-operate with debian or the opposite... I really don't know.

Although I am not an expert, I would risk to say that debian isn't a good choice for triple boot with clover. Mint on the other hand works out of the box for uefi triple booting.
 
Sorry to necro an old thread but this is still an issue. Clover does not see/detect a debian install in efi the only way to boot is with the motherboard efi F12 for me. Has anyone looked into this or resolved this issue with debian and debian based distro's besides *ubuntu of course that works.

I just spent about an hour downloading and installing Debian 8 Jesse 3.16.0-4 image.
After installation booted to the desktop and logged in.
I had to add sudo since it evidently is not included in the installation and added my user to sudo privileges.
Then type ls -l /dev/disk/by-uuid and hit enter to get my partition UUIDs. Copied them from terminal to a text file and saved it to a USB.
Reboot to OS X.
launch terminal, run diskutil list to get ID of drives - you will notice the EFI partition of the Debian drive has a name of No Name instead of EFI.
Mount the Debian drive EFI partition. Rename it EFI. Eject it
Mount the OS X EFI partition, copy the config.plist to desktop and edit the GUI section:

Save.
Rename the config.plist in your EFI/Clover folder to config-bak.plist or archive it for a backup somewhere.
Copy the config.plist on your desktop to EFI/Clover and reboot. You should see the EXT3 Penguin icon in Clover now.
